This car seat just went on my shopping list!!! Just at the stage when baby gets heavier and its harder to put them in a car seat bebe confort just made life a little easier for us!!!! The seat can turn 90 degrees to the left and right! So, you can put baba straight in facing you, and if your sitting in the back with them.. you can turn it to face you too! Its the getting baba into the car bit thats the best bit though!!

Our OT said social services would pay for this, she even said they would pay towards a cot as well that goes against the bed. Theres a whole list of things they will contribute towards! Why do they never tell us before you purchase things!!!!!!!

So are Congratulations in order? If so congrats smile.gif and I am going to have to worry as it seems that something is in the water!

Blinkin, 'eck!!! Social services will pay for stuff?!!! I never knew that. Better try and get as much put of them as poss for the 3rd I suppose! We really need a new car seat for the 10 month old now, so something like a swivel would be a godsend. Which dept do you have to speak to in your council? Wondering if mine has a similar one.
I see the axiss is available for around £159 from Boots, cheaper than Ebay on this occassion.

They go through OT Connect.. our contact page is here for west sussex.. basically you give them a call about a problem you have doing something ie getting child into car. You explain that yes you might have been able to do it when they were tiny, but as baby gets heavier you dont have the trunk control to put baba in the car.. etc etc.. you hint that there is a system you could use that would help you immensely.. or else the only way to resolve this problem is a) you don't go out or cool.gif your going to need a carer to help you with your child. you give them the facts of the situation and you give them a price.. they then think to themselves oh it would be so much easier just to get her this piece of equipment.... Our council say it can take a wekk to either come up with the funds, or get you the equipment you need to *stay independent*. It was my obstiatrician who recently told us about this help! She also told us that we can have an independent midwife for the pregnancy, and we could choose her! They have three independent midwives at worthing general. The idea is that it makes sure that my midwife knows me, she will follow right the way through. We had a 2 hour *chat* with our obstiatrician last month they called it pre-pregnancy counseling, as I start assisted *make baby* stuff this month, well in 13 days time! smile.gif This obstiatrician (Mary)specialises in pregnancies with mothers who have disorders and things that may interfere with the pregnancy. She had already contacted stoke and had all my notes sent to her, she shared all my urology stuff with the worthing urologists and I'm going to meet the anesthetist as soon as I'm *viable* ( horrible word). So, yes, wish me luck!! I going to have to change my car, and our house has just gone on the market but.. I wont stress!!!!

Emma.

Hi Everyone,

I have to say that this product is FANTASTIC!!!! I'm T12 complete. My beautiful daughter is now 14 months old. When she was tiny and using a rear-facing car seat, I was able to turn the seat to face me, put her in and do the straps up, turn the seat so she was rear-facing and (just about) reach to put the seat belt round it.

We were not looking forward to the next stage of car travel as I couldn't imagine being able to lift her in to a fixed forward-facing seat and to be able to reach to strap her in (especially as the design features of the clasps mean that you need to use two hands to fit them together and click them into place). How on earth would I be able to do this while sitting in a wheelchair??? Would I be house-bound with 'Little Miss' unless I had the help of others?

I'd heard about the Bebe Confort Axiss and it looked too good to be true. When the time came to taking the plunge, I was lucky to find one on Amazon for £157 with free P&P. When it was delivered, it looked huge and I was not sure that it would be manageable but it was our best option by far. To rotate the seat 90 degrees, you need to hold open two levers (one either side of the seat) so that the 'lock' is released and you can rotate the seat. It looked as if it would be quite difficult to do.....and although it's not easy, it's manageable!!!! Hooray!!!! I was so delighted the first time I tried it - if anything, it's easier than the rear-facing seat as i don't have to reach to secure it with the seatbelt as the base is already fixed in place by the seatbelt.

Little Miss looked so grown up the first time she went out in it and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face!! We continue to enjoy our trips out as Mother and Daughter................

Thank you Bebe Confort!!!!!!
