Hi,

I am a C-3 incomplete 8 years post and during the past 8 years I received monthly benefit from Hartford Insurance under long term disability and a small amount from Social Security. Is it possible to negotiate for a lump sum payment under long term disability benefits under Hartford Insurance. The reason I am asking this is because I will be marrying next winter and need some money to buy a house in Vietnam and spend the rest of my life living with my girl there. Thanks

Hi,

It is not usually possible to negotiate a lump sum. However, this does not prevent you from contacting the insurer, explaining your situation, and seeing if there are any routes forward that would be beneficial for you.
