Greetings,

I have been asked by a friend to help his wheelchair basketball team raise money for some ultralite chairs for the team. I have to get more info from him on how much the chairs will cost and such so i know how much money i need to work on raising because the amount needed will help determine the actual event but I am thinking part of the event will be an art show/auction with all the art donated by or about persons in a chair. I have a friend in a chair that is a really good painter. I am sure there are others. does anyone know where i can get my hands on some work like this....

if you have any other ideas i am interested to hear them.. like i said i have lots of ideas already spinning but need to get more info from him first before making final choices...

simon ... you think you could dontate some "in it for the parking" shirts to the event it would be a great plug for the site for my local crowd... .

have a texas hold em tournament, something like a $20 dollar buy in, and then like $200 to the winner, $100 to 2nd and $50 to 3rd. With any sort of turn out you'll get enough to pay those awards and still make plenty. Find a local bar to host it and they'll probably do it free since they'd make money off people buying drinks from them.

we do fundraising events at local schools and sell tickets to people to perform or use the court and have the local police or fire department play us and sell tickets to the events!!

Look as broadly as you can especially around local businesses that may give you items to add to your auction. I not sure how big your team is or what level of competition they are playing at but if the club is big enough then you may get some annual sponsorship. Out here I sponsor our local team but they are playing in the national league.
