Ok Peep's,

Got a mental block!

What's 88.8kg in Stones and Pounds (UK)?

Minus 2st 2lb.

Simon blink.gif

88.8kg is about 195lbs. 2.2kg=1lbs I'm not sure about stones though, I'm from the US!

I tried that web site CG, but for some reason it wouldn't give me any conversions except in lengthes.

Does anyone know what a stone weighs???? I've been told 16 pounds and twenty pounds but have not seen it in writing.

I guess I'll go google it now.

Most mobile phones have a converter under Extras, well Vodafone has. I use it all the time.

Ok,

Here's what I make it, rounding 88.8kg upto 90kg to keep it simple.

2.2lbs -> 1kg

14lbs -> 1st.

90kg x 2.2 = 198lbs

198/14 = 14st 2lb

14st 2lb - 2.2lb (from when I rounded the kg up) = 13st 13lb

13st 13lb - 2st 2lb (weight of wheelchair) = 11st 11lb

------------------------------------

I think thats right!

Ok, here's what's puzzling me, over the last two years I've been gradually putting on weight, and when I was weighed back in March, I my body weighed 12st 13lb.

That means, I've lost over a stone in weight since my last weighing!

Now, either my diet and exercise is working, or the scales are wrong!

Be nice if when I get weighed in September, the weight is still gone.

If you use Windows here is a website with a free download of a unit conversion program Josh Madison Unit Converter. I use this at work and at home.

Had to go in for a routine kidney scan today, everything was ok.

Whilst I was there, I jumped onto the scales, and have lost another 5lbs.

So, my weight is now 11st 6lbs.

Gonna need some new jeans soon, my current ones are getting a bit baggy around the waist!

Next weigh in is in September.

Congrats Simon! I really wish I could weigh in, it's a bit frustrating never having an exact results. What have you been doing to lose that weight? I'm counting calories (1200 a day) and working out (crunches, push ups, weights, upper body ergometer) about 1.5 hours, 4 days a week, but it just seems like I'm not getting anywhere. sad.gif

Went for a Baclofen Pump refill on Tuesday, jumped on the scales, and am just under 11st 2lb.

I'm pretty sure the weight loss is due to cutting down on the wine, and cutting out pasta and potatoes in the week. At the weekend I eat and drink as normal.

So, it is possible to lose weight, and the way to do it for me at least, is cutting down on the carbs in the week.

I'll get all my weigh in's, and post a graph, just in case anyone's interested.

Simon.

Wow Simon!

That looks like nearly 2 stones in 6 months from your graph, and a slower but still a good drop off recently.

Is that all you have been doing to get such good results? cutting out carbs and booze?

Hows things like your skin condition and pressure points going with this loss?

Also how come you manage to get weighed so often? I can only manage to get weighed every 2 years at my review.

Yeah, pretty much!

In the week, I don't normally drink alcohol, but drink at weekends only. In the week I also now just have two slices of Nimble bread for breakfast, with 1 large glass of Tomatoe juice, and a black coffee. My breakfast at the weekends varies between bacon sandwiches and scrambled egg on toast.

Lunch varies, between fruit, or soup, with a couple of slices of bread.

Dinner varies, in the summer, I eat alot of fish, or seafood, panfried and served on a mixed salad. In cooler months, I eat a base of peas, carrots and broccolli, with either chicken, fish or coq-au-vin. This varies though, but doesn't usually have calorie rich sauces with it. I also don't have potatoes with my evening meal.

At the weekend, I eat what I want, plenty of BBQ's, pizza, roast dinners etc.

I don't snack between meals, if I'm not hungry at lunchtime, I will just have a couple of cups of coffee to keep me going until my evening meal.

That's about it really.

I don't want to lose any more weight now, and will be happy for my weight to fluctuate between 11st and 11st5lbs.

My skin has been fine, but I have been eating a vitamin and protein rich diet. Also, by losing weight, there's less pressure on my pressure points.

I get my baclofen pump refilled every 3 months, so always weigh myself when I visit, and have kept a record. It's very easy for your weight to creep up over time, and before you know it, you're buying new jeans, and struggling to push your wheelchair.

Since losing my weight, I've managed to push up slopes I wouldn't of had a chance to before, and by being able to push more, I'm burning a few extra calories as well!

Regards

Simon.

So you're trying to loose weight? VS. Loosing weight despite efforts to try & keep it on. Just saw that big change/drop in weight & was surprised at the drastic change from the previous visits/weigh-ins. unsure.gif
