We are lucky becasue my husbands family are fairly well off and as a result while we ourselves are not particularly rich, we dont exactly go without.
My husband has been thinking about this for some time, and would like to set up a Charitable Trust for the benefit of others, in which individuals could apply for small amounts of money for specific things. I had been musing about this myself and realised that sometimes you need something that isnt necessarily that expensive, but certainly if you are on benefits you just put it off and put it off. For instance upholstery for a wheelchair, or maybe someone cant take a job becasue they cant afford to get there, so supplying a bus pass for a year.
The idea is very much to support individuals. There seems to be all sorts of charities for groups but as a person if you need something its very hard to find anyone who might help .
So firstly I was wondering if people thought this was a decent idea and secondly if anyone has any experience they can offer. Obviously we are talking to the charities commision but I was looking for first hand experience really.
Cheers
