I just recently started having problems in my upper body with extreme pain in my hands while sleeping. I have numbness that seems to subside when I get up. I have pain in my hands and wrists and upper back. I have tried different beds and sleeping differently and massages but nothing seems to do the trick. I am usually okay except for occasional "popping" in my hands and wrists and shoulders that cause that "shocking/tingling/numb" feeling for a few seconds after it happens. I don't know why all the sudden I am having problems other than I just took a little trip and spent 2 days doing a lot of pushing and pulling. I just don't understand it and I don't know what to do for it. Anyone have any help or advice?

When i sleep i have some numbness in my hands and i wake up and they are asleep(well just my right hand) I went to my doctor and got a little cast thing to wear to bed(cant think of the name! lol) it basically just supports your wrists and it takes away the numbness, i do have some pain in my wrists i take lyrica and celebrex, and it still doesnt help. I do have a sirinyx in my spinal cord that still isnt going down after surgery so that may have alot to do with it. you may be getting some arthritis..?

ummm...no? I don't have it during the day so I'm sure it's not that...I don't know if it's the way I sleep or because we use our hands all day to push or because part of our spine is stationary...? I have been a nurse ofr over 20 years and this is puzzling to me as to why...I think I know the brace you are talking about. The doctor I go to for my acupuncture suggested it too...does it help you? Is it awkward to sleep in it?

my wrist hurts all day so it is different for u oviousally! it does help me and yes it is somewhat awkward because it just keeps your wrist straight, but not too bad at all, wearing it at night my hand doesn't go numb AT ALL! but i only have numbness in my right hand ..
