I am considering a B. pump to control my escalating spasticity post my SC injury Feb. '08. I will ask my neurologist this for sure but has anyone heard of physical restrictions post implant? I am a para with aspirations of continuing my scuba diving interests and wonder if the pump would restrict this activity.
Thanks
Chuck

I've definately heard that a pump would prevent someone scuba diving. However I spoke to my specialist who's going to do the implant and he said he'd be quite happy to put his name to a letter saying that there would be no adverse reaction from scuba diving with the pump in. I suspect that there might be a depth restriction and whether you could get a specialist diving doc or an insurance company doc to ok it when they're not a specialist in SCI is a different matter.
