I'm a c5/c6 quad with little hand movement and bought a Yamaha Rhino a few months ago to get back riding. th_driving1.gif

After searching for awhile and only coming up with modified hand controls from a car, someone pointed me to a UTV shop called Hunter Works, Todd the owner was kind enough to deal with all my phone calls asking about hand controls that I was told he was trying to sell, but the maker required them to be installed by a certified dealer.

So after searching he come across some called Sure Grip, these are made for most UTV's and golf carts and can be installed by anyone. Todd has these listed on his website if anyone is interested. http://www.hunterworks.com/inc/sdetail/28734

The pictures below are the ones he sent me when he did a test install on his Rhino, if anyone needs a picture of a different view let me know and I will take pictures of mine. I hope by posting this it will make it a little easier for others looking to get back into riding to find whats needed.

Yeah I need to call him up one of these days and order the same thing for my Teryx I just got about a month ago. I take it there a push pull setup? How do you like them for long rides? Can you steer and use them at the same time with the same hand? lol Like when your going straight?

Yeah, push for the brakes and pull for gas. The longest I have rode at one time now is about 2 hours and my left arm starts getting tired if I don't take a short break, but that will get better with time. The way they are mounted, it allows you to have half of your hand on the control and half on the wheel, so it is possible if you have full/most hand movement.

They work well, a lot better than the ones that were made for a car that I tried first. Now I need to get a power steering kit so turning at slow speeds and bump steer isn't so bad.

Too bad it costs $1000.... Otherwise I would have it already...lol That and some nice big Outlaws biggrin.gif

That's why I don't have it, too many bills and too little income. dry.gif

I temporarily take my portables out of my Hyundai (cheap disposable car but gets good mileage) and drive my sons Rhino. They worked fine and are easy to re-install. It takes only 5 minutes with NO TOOLS! These portable handcontrols are made by Colours in Motion http://www.colourswheelchair.com/ and are fairly inexpensive. I've used them to drive a golfcart, gokart, an arcade driving game and a rent a car when one with hand controls wasn't available.
If You are looking to save some money and also get a VERY versatile sat of hand controls, this might be the ticket.....

Oh Yea....Congrats on the Rhino!!! I prefer riding my quad but I think driving ANY off-road vehicle is great physical and (even more important) Mental therapy.

Yeah, I do the same. I take the portable controls out of my car and put them into my Teryx. It works ok. But I want something more rigid and sturdy. These flop around to much for me.

I already have the controls, it is the power steering that I can not afford right now. The Rhino is by far the best investment I have made since my accident, now I have to deal with wanting the near endless selection of add-ons for it.

I made my own hand controls that totally elliminate the pedals in the floor as well as the master cylinder that came in my RZR. They only work if you are a para though, but I'm going to get a set together for quads too.

Tidy set of controles. I considered gettin a Rhino but power steering was the biggest issue for me being c5/6.

I will stick with my Argo

I really like the Argos. Those things are amphibious so you can fish out of them too....pretty cool!
