Want to play some paintball? We've got some ideas for you.

A quick introduction. I'm "Indy" Allen Martin. I've played scenario paintball games for over a decade. I specifically play Viper Scenario Paintball games, and have known the event producer for a very long time. He gave me a forum to discuss some upcoming technology and how it can and will apply to his events. As one of those projects, I built a servo-driven pan & tilt turret that runs under Windows. One of the members remarked about the possibility of mounting it to a wheelchair, and I thought it was brilliant. I traded emails with Kerry "Viper" Rosenberry, the owner and producer of Viper Scenarios, about the idea, and we began to flesh it out.

A paintball scenario game isn't your regular adventure to a field. It's much more. There's often hundreds of people across 60+ acres, radios, night play, constant missions to do, live action role-playing, tanks, nerf rocket launchers, and much more, punctuated by huge battles of hundreds fighting for a single section of the field. There's everything from flat speedball fields and bridges, to heavily walked trails, to light, heavy, and even completely impenetrable woods. I've played for over a decade, and still can't find an experience like it. It's a full, 26 hour long adventure.

Paintball was cool before I got injured, now it sounds like it'd be a pain in the ass getting all that paint off my chair, and bruises below my injury level don't sound like such a good idea. Anyone else got thoughts on this? Now maybe some tactical-type airsoft matches would be pretty cool.

You should read the idea thread. There's a solution to getting bruised up that fits within these games perfectly.

You'll still probably have a mess on your hands after though. smile.gif

I've only ever done paintball once and it was about a month before my accident, It was awesome fun, physical, tactical, loved it!

It's quite funny as when I was in bed healing one of the thoughts in my head (among 100000s of others) was I'm ot going to be able to do paintball again!

I've wondered a few times about a way I could do it again, the thing I found fun was the running around, hiding in trees etc. Plus shooting people of course! The only way of getting involved I could envisage was as a sniper who would get shot pretty sharpish due to not being able to change position too easily lol!

I even conjured strange ideas of getting involved in football again too one upon a time lol but atleast the paintball looks realistic now!
