Hi Dave,
I know what you mean. I think this accident has financially put me back 20 years sometimes. I would like to do so many things in life but I really want to buy my own place soon so keep putting all the fun things off. Just when it is time to buy a place it seems I get some sort of medical complication and can't get the finance anyway. Worse still I know when I do get my own place I won't be able to afford those things then either. It is a pity there wasn't some sort of joint ownership thing going on where people with disablilities could put in, say a tenth of the value of some recreational equipment and get to book it out like a timeshare house for use on weekends. Then the cost of purchase and modifications could be spread out a bit more.

Idealy Slowlegs sounds great. The problem is outlaying the $ wear and tear more $.

In some respects I'm lucky, I havnt got much cash but do have enough knowledge to fix most machinery. The problem is physical ability to do the actual work. Its taken me over three years to get my plaything up and running. Countless frustrating hours, there were many times i thought screw it, its never going to happen but persistance pays off.

I have loaned my Argo to people who just dont appreciate how difficult it is for me to do the repairs and maintenance to keep things running.

I see the problem with sharing is, unless people have worked for the cash &/or can equate damage or wear and tear into the effort it took to earn or build what they have. They rarely respect the item.

Fatdave, If you havnt got the $ or a job to get $, why dont you barter yourself. Find some way of getting what you want. Answer phones, shitkick for a mechanic that can get you what you want. There would be a way, you just havnt found it yet. Chin up, get on and do it if you want it.
