When it rains, it pours.. :D

UTI's suck. I spend alot of time in the shower when I get one. Its pratically the only thing I can do to keep from losing my mind.

If you dont mind me asking, whats an anal fissure?

And lastly,.. how are those transfers coming along?

My last UTI was associated with constipation – one day after I finally got things moving I started feeling the UTI coming on.

If things are still moving slowly and you still feel constipated, I’d recommend keeping up on the stool softeners, or what ever you’re using. What I didn’t realize is that you can still be blocked up even though you’re going small amounts. After 10 days of not going, you should have seriously unloaded.

When it rains it pours for sure but it seems like the bad times are followed by a long stretch of good times so hang in there. If you have been taking anti-biotic s they can and do destroy the bacteria in your gut and colon, if the colon doesn't have these little guys it wont work right and can get sick, they help move the food through. These bacteria also protect the body from infections by forming a barrier between whats in the gut and us. Food passes thought the intestines without ever touching the body also the bacteria feeds us after digesting the food we eat. That's pretty wild. You can get bacteria and use an enema to get it in the colon, there should be someone at a health food store who can help you it could help with the fissures.

Hi Jackie,
Sorry you aren't feeling too well. Ches is so right.........when it rains, it pours! I've been in your situation before, and you can attempt to help both issues by drinking LOTS and LOTS of water. Drink it whether you are thirsty or not. You will add moisture to your bowel & make your urine less concentrated. It's not necessarily a cure, but it will definitely help. For me, keeping myself thoroughly hydrated makes my bowel program all that much easier & comfortable. It means cathing more frequently, but it works better in the end.......literally (couldn't resist!! :( )

Feel better soon!

Oh Stella you're such a hoot!

Hey Jackie ~ Sorry to read that you're not feeling so well. You've gotten some great advice so far. Yeah antibiotics tends to kill all bacteria even the good stuff you need to keep your system regular. My hubby doesn't do a BP, but he went through a period where food just went right through him. So the opposite of what you are enduring. Hubby was given some general Probiotics from the doctor. There are many types of healthy bacteria, such as acidophillus. When the Prescription strength samples of the Probiotics ran out, I went to GNC and found a product with the same ingredients as the samples the doctor had given. It's called Super Bifido and has 4 types of probiotics that are essential to keeping a healthy digestive system.

Hubby takes 1 every day with a smoothie and it keeps him regular and gives him enough time to hop on the toilet. Maybe ask your doctor if this would be a good idea to try to be sure it won't interfere with the antibiotics you are taking.

Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Sorry to hear that you're having so many problems with regards to your health. Maybe the New Year will be the turn around of more than just the year and things will turn around with your health.

Bummer (no pun intended)! I actually had a scrotal fissure in my first year, no joke! I snagged my sack on my brake handle in a transfer from the couch to my chair and it took 8 stitches in an ER full of amused staff to put it back together, "Did you see the guy in room 6 who ripped his sack open [grin]?".

You know for me, it seems like frustrating issues always happen at the same time. Whether it is urine leaks, dropping things, falling out of my chair, and all the other hassles we deal with on a daily basis. But it does get better and the rain stops for awhile too.
