44 year old African American male, depressed and dealing with a pressure sore for over five wks. Started with a VAC, worked then stopped, now using Iodoform packing, little results, may require surgery. I feel like my wound care doctor and home care nurse, dont really know how to treat my wound. Has anyone had a similiar experience or do you have any recommendations to promote healing?

Hi there

Pressure sores are something that we all know about as SCI. Here in South Africa we discovered an excellant treatment called CERDAK. It looks like white tea bags and was invented by a Dr Iceland from Mtunzini in Kwazulu Natal South Africa. What it is - crystals with anticeptic and healing qualities. You need to apply it and leave fro 24hrs at a time. It suctions out all the bad and allows new skin to grow. We even used it on boils which with extensive antibotic treatment would not go away but with CERDAK never returned again.

I am not sure if you have it where you are but know that it is exported from South Africa. All the hospitals ,government and private use it here.

The most important to remember is you must stay off that pressure mark. This is a must.
Hope this was of some help. The Cerdak is really amazing stuff. Try see if you can find it at your chemist or hospital or I can see what I can do from here.
