:dunno:Wasup, I have a dilemma that I want to get everyones insight. I work part time at WalMart through the Ticket to Work program, I am a T4 Incomplete and Im painfree. The fact that im incomplete I basically can tell when my bladder is about to void whether its waiting to long to cath or drinking to much Mountain Dew. Now by the time I realize that Im about to be soak and wet the nearest bathroom is so far away from my department that I am posed a question. Do I pull out and catherize or not? Now I thought about posting this in Bladder and Bowel but this felt more like a general issue that I thought I could get a wide range of viewpoints. Or if anything could I have some tips that anyont uses when faced with this problem! :helpme:

I suggest getting a routine going so when ever you drink a certain amount of fluidsyou'll eventually know when you should go BEFORE you start feeling like you HAVE to go. That way your not stressing your bladder and consequently causing a possible accident.

BTW, expect this post to be moved anyway . . . it's the natural order of things.

Edit to add, I truly thought this topic would have been about something that would have to be moved to the ''Sexuality Forum'' based on the title.-lol Really, pulling out is a completely different term on this side of the pond, and may I add, not the most effective way to preventing birth control, so in that respect I suggest using other means of protection.-hehe

HA! Once again Bouncer, we're on the same wave length regarding your second paragraph - LOL Yeah, I've been with "Mr. I promise to pull it out" and didn't! I actually did think by the title of this thread that's what this was about and I was going to suggest using a rubber instead. Much safer that way.

Sorry Ya Diggg, don't have much advice for you on the cathing situation, hubby doesn't cath, however he does drink a lot of Mountain Dew! If he has to use his urinal while working, he has a long haul to the restroom too. If he gets stuck with a customer, sometimes he'll ask a coworker to rush him down to the restroom. Don't know if that's an option for ya.

Haha.. loving the title.

Ya Digg I'm an incomplete T4/5 with similiar sensations. Few Questions;... How long have you been having these sensations? And, the feeling of knowing your bladder is about to release,.. is it an AD thing, the bladdering spazzing, or genuine full and heavy bladder begging to be emptied? And have you ever paid attention or reflected on the signals that come just before?

Its easy to overlook little things, for instance theres times when I may get suddenly flushed and a bit uncomfortable for no 'apparent' reason. Times like that its definitely a race to the bathroom, and the hysteria never helps. In fact, thinking about it now seems like I usually just try to hurry and use what muscle I do have to 'hold it in'. If you have any muscle control south of the injury it wouldnt hurt to give it a try. You'd be surprised, its alot easier to stop the pee than start it. But, at the same time, a little liquid goes a long way and even a bladder spasm can leave you sitting in ur own urine for hours. So, maybe.... if this is even an option at this point, you could wear a condom cath? I honestly dont even know what they are. I can imagine, but thats about it. I am a girl afterall. But I went through the same thing, learning. I wore pantyliners.. incase you needed to know..or are willing to consider. j/k lol

Option two.. get to the nearest closet and fill up that mountain dew bottle? I would, but I'm just that kind of girl.

Or....Lastly, pay attention to your bladder, figure out your limits and take control. Cath more frequently?

When I was working I never drank more than 24 oz. in between cathings. You do realize that Mountain Dew has caffeine in it, which is just asking for trouble, imho. The problem with caffeine is that you never know when the diuretic properties are going to kick in.

Yes gotta go with what Ches said -condom caths are great once you get used to them and maybe also try to get a time/amount of liquid intake routine going that will help.
And Ches its easy to stop !!!!! geeze never been for me and don't fancy practicing :blushing02:

Kwag hit it on the had, Mt. Dew is not the best thing to be drinking at work if you have these problems.. It will cause you to go and often without much warning, as will any other drink high in caffeine. I only drink water at work. Beside being more healthy for me it also it more predictable. When my bladder gets near full I can tell. I normally have about 5 minutes of time before I go, which is normally plenty of time to get to the rest room. I can drink 2 to 3 times as much water between trips to the bathroom as I can anything with caffeine.

Also like Ches said, pay attention to any abnormal feeling. If you feel a bit flushed, a tingle of a weird head ache, pressure in your stomach...there are several things and different people get different ones. I took me 2-3 years before I figured out exactly what meant what, but once ya do figure it out, it really cuts down on accidents and other problems.

All the above suggestions should help,,,,,, but,,, if you decide to just whip it out where ever you are,,,, the odds are you won't be working at Wally World much longer.

Having to leave early because you had an accident,,, or exposing yourself to the customers,,,,,,,,,,,,hmmmmmm which do you suppose would the managers prefer?????
