hey all

has anyone ever spasmed at a funny time and done something funny or just spasmed at the right time for something

I have a few funny stories

as I have full body spasms my arms go up and fling around

story one: i was waiting to cross a road when a bunch of teenagers pulled up in front of me and right when they all had a quick glance at me (as everyone does) I spasmed and my arms came flying up and shaking about as if I was trying too wave to them all I could do was laugb as they all turned back around and took off

story two: I was lying in bed with just a cloth over my privates seen my dad and ex-girlfriend were putting me back to bed anyway my dad had his back to me and my ex was walking to the other side of the bed when she got to the end of the bed I spasmed and lifted my cloth with both hands and gave her a flash.
she still cracks up about that story.

anyways those are my stories tell us yours

Oh yes, been there, done that!

Once when the spinal consultant was checking me when in bed, my knee flew up and smacked him in the jaw.

Quite often after a standing car transfer, straight after sitting in my chair, my abdominal muscles will kick in, and I'll end up head butting Karen!

And the spasms (Clonus) in the arms and hands can look weird, especially when I'm holding a hot cup of coffee or glass of wine, and it makes a right mess if I'm holding a can of beer!

But, I still couldn't live without these spasms, as they give me a stretch, give me a grip in my hands when I trigger them, and help keep my blood pressure up!

My husbands spasms are mostly in his legs...one of the funniest things we remember is when my husband was transfering from his w/c onto his truck lift to get in the truck.

We were at our friends' house getting ready to leave. They came outside with us and Todd transferred onto the little lift seat of the truck to get in and my friend's husband pulled the w/c away to put it in the back of the truck. Well...it was winter time, snowy and muddy and Todd's legs started spasming making his feet knock together like he was knocking the snow and mud off his shoes. My friend all of a sudden says to me..."Oh my goodness, Todd is knocking the crap off the bottom of his shoes...i thought he couldn't move his legs...." My husband looked at her and said..."Judy, didn't you know after all this time I can move my legs? I'm faking now...just in it for the attention and the parking!" We laughed so hard cuz it looked like such a normal, natural movement that an AB would make and we think nothing of it but someone from the outside is like....well, i thought he couldn't move his legs??

We still tease her about it!

I have a similar story. Over the summer I was at the zoo driving down a bumpy pathway, which caused my hand to spasm up and down. At the bottom of this pathway was a group of little girls who must have thought I was waving to them because they all waved back.

I had a funny one happen today. In my grade at school, this year's PE class is fitness, which is essentially working out and learning about nutrition, which means I can actually participate in some of the stuff. Today we were doing yoga, and I could do some of the different poses (i.e. ones that don't require your legs). Anyways, so we were finishing up by doing the corpse pose, which is just lying on the floor and clearing your mind. So everyone is lying there, all silent and chill and zen and then my leg starts spasming and flying all over the place. It was a little bit insane. :P

I can remember the first time Kim had a spasm in her leg. We were in the hospital and practicing
transfers and she kicked me right in the uhha you know. Down I went and the nurses were laughing their heads off. Kim told me to get out of her way! She was trying to do something.

OMG I'm totally cracking up over here! My eyes are watering that's how hard I'm laughing.

I don't have very intense spasms, but I know in school when my leg or hand would spasm, my friends would just look at me.

My college friend and I now make fun of my spasms by saying I'm "turning into The Hulk". So now when I spasm, I shout, "OMG I'm turning into The Hulk" and we crack up laughing.

In my chair one morning, having neglected to fasten seat belt, I was bent over tying my shoe (right foot) when my left leg decided it was the perfect time to act-up. Keep in mind here, I'm 6 feet tall and weigh about 300 pounds. The spasm catapaulted me up and out of the chair tossing me about 5 or 6 feet away. Had to crawl to my cell fone to get the fire dept. to send 3 husky dudes to get me back into my conveyance.

Only 3 firemen E-Dog? Well, you should be insulted, they should have sent the entire crew for you. I had a smoke alarm that would not stop chirping, even after I replaced the battery.

I called the fire dept. to ask if they had any suggestions on how to turn the sucker off since it is wired to the house alarm. I clearly told them there was no emergency, it was just driving us nuts. The dispatcher told me she could have a couple of their guys come out to check it for me. Two guys came and after I took them down to the wing where the guest rooms are, I turned around and saw more guys walking in. I looked outside and they brought the big long-ass fire truck with 6 more guys all going through my house checking every alarm I have.

It was Mr. Hapa's birthday and he thought maybe I hired a stripper for him. I did hire a woman dressed like a cop for his 40th, but this was not the case with the smoke alarms. Well, since this thread is about spasms, Mr. Hapa's legs did start to shake when he thought of a firewoman stripper coming in to entertain him. :ranting:

if the ab-muscle triggered spasm head but were a martial arts form, i would be a sixth dun black belt by now. my head buts are usually triggered when my legs go into hyper-sensory mode just before someone or something touches them. once the legs spasm, the abs and the rest of the body simply join in the fun. i headbut someone every few months or so. it should come in handy should i ever need to defend my self from some wanna be pick-pocket or something

My feet have come off of my footplates and kicked out tripping people up before now...that's pretty embarassing...

A teacher at school noticed my legs bouncing up and down vigorously once and seemed concerned when he asked if I was ok...again embarassing lol...

When I move to the edge of my chair my legs tend to fly out straight then slowly loer themselves back onto my footplate, people on a back up course I went on thought I was incomplete.

My legs have spasmed and kiced my chair away from me before now too...meant getting on to the floor, crawling after it and then getting back up, most inconvenient lol!

Was at a dinner party, both legs spasmed straight up causing my knees to give the table a jolt strong enough to spill several drinks all over the place.

Another more serious time I involuntarily stepped on the ''instructor'' break pedal while sitting passenger in my van... That could have been really bad had the driver not already been breaking.

OMG! These sorts of things happen to me all the time since i'm too stubborn to take the meds that reduce the spasms.

Just the other day in class my legs started doing that thing where they bounce up and down really fast on the footplates...while i was sitting with my legs under a desk...and they smacked the desk pretty loudly about 7-8 times before i could get them to quit lol. Of course it had to be at a time when the room was totally silent :) Oh well, in my usual smartass fashion i just popped off some comment about attempting to run away but apparently it wasnt working too well...haha.
