Hello fello SCI friends...I am the newest member here, I suffered a fall in Sept. and am now a paraplegic. I was in the trauma unit for 7 weeks and then moved to the acute rehab. for just under 4 weeks when I was released to a nursing/rehab. facility. However, the facility I am at doesn't have the equipment to work my legs and that area like I'd like. I would really like to find a sub acute facility that would have the equipment and rehab. that might be geared for spinal cord injuries where I'll get more intense therapy. I have been told I was moved way too early from the acute rehab, but I just don't wanna fall backwards. I've tried to maintain a positive attitude to the new life but I'd like to do all that I can to be able to be on my own and take care of myself again. Does anyone have any suggestions to any places that might offer what I am looking for...I am in NY, but willing to travel out of state if needed. Right now, I want to work out as much as I can on my lower extremities, so if leaving my home state and going where I might accomplish something is what I have to do..I will do it...Please, if you have any suggestions, let me know...be greatly appreciated!!Thank you,Shannon
