Just started and I'll see where this goes. First time in a disability forum. I'm a C4-C5 quad. My wife just passed away 8 days ago and I'm pretty much a mess... emotionally wrecked and trying to pull my life together. :santa:

Really sorry to hear that, I can't imagine what you're going through at the moment, it must be really tough.

If the members here can help, I'm sure they will respond with any replies to posts you make.

Hi Noles,

I'm very sorry to hear of your sad loss but if its support you want then you've come to the best site there is.

Unlike the others who've posted before me, I know exactly how numb you feel and what you're going through.

I'm also C4/5 and been injured 50 years. My wife died just over a year ago; we had ben married 43 years. Everyone here is supportive and friendly; if you need friends you only have to call out.

I don't believe in giving advice as everyones situation is different. All I can tell you is from my experience things get easier, but it takes time. I still get times when I feel really sad, lonely and wonder how I'll cope. When I feel like that, I come here and read everyones posts and try and get involved in the fun side of life. That's what my wife wanted me to do so I'm sure your wife would want you to do the same.

Hang on in there and make her feel proud of you.

Hi Noles. I too am very sorry about your loss. I can't imagine it because I broke up with my ex a while after my injury. I'm happy that you are reaching out to us. This is the first SCI group of any kind that I've ever associated with, and I have a lot of respect and affection for the people on this site. Somehow I thought people in a group like this would be negative or depressing, but it's quite the opposite. Of course some people do deal with depression, but in general they do so with dignity, and there is support here for that if it happens. Any loss is very painful. Please keep in touch with us.
