I need some advice on my least favourite topic, but anyway, here goes....

Over Christmas I had a vomiting and diarrhoea bug, the vomiting continued a few days after the diarrhoea stopped so I wasn’t eating anything. Whilst all this was going on, bowel routine kinda took a back seat, however since everything has settled down and I’m back to eating properly I still haven’t gone. My diet hasn’t been great but has included fibre. Normal routine is micralax and dig stim every other day, but since this problem I have tried daily with no joy.

Is there anything that can help things get going again? I don’t want anything that is going to cause everything to loosen up again

Has anyone else had this problem? How long did it take to sort out after?

Any advice gratefully received!

After getting cleaned out from being sick it usually takes me five to seven days to have a BM again. Not eating for a couple days might push that out a little more. Don't know if this is normal. Are you feeling any bloating or discomfort?

Anytime Im cleaned out it takes 3-4 days before Im up and running again...

Try the old, rub your belly routine... works for babies with gas.. maybe it will work for you!

I'm much like the others, Trin,,,, several days,, after a thorough purging.

Hope your feeling better,,,, this wasn't a New Year's party result, was it????

You do have to be careful about those " horse divers",,,, sometimes they are left out a bit too long.

Unfortunately not! A friend of my sisters kindly shared her bug with us when she visited on Christmas eve

Yes thanks Drew. All things come to those who wait! However waiting a week I felt a little excessive.

I may not like exercise but the strong morning coffee is a winner!

Join the club Trin, I got the bug from a Christmas visitor but didn't vomit, just the other...... Our sewage works was on double shifts on New Years day.....

I'm still not sorted out so I expect an explosion soon as my belly feels big. It could reach 6.4 on the Richtor scale. so if the earth move for you Trin you'll know who it is...

I eat lots of fresh fruit and veg everyday so I never normally have problems.
