SOMETIMES taking cranberry supplements.. commonly known as AZO's can help with the spazzing, but that's not a guarantee, even those things will fail you given the chance. Best thing is to get on those meds asap. I doubt your having any physical issues with your bladder.. its more than likely just the infection. If the bacteria is gathering in your body, your bladder is going to release as a priority. Its just basic anatomy, I suppose its like running to the bathroom 89 times in a day when your AB with a bladder infection!
Anyways, been there, done that.. not any fun. ESPECIALLY waking up and having to change the sheets, and yourself...thats undoubtedly one of the worst for me.

I was starting to have symtoms a week ago, they tested me for a UTI before my surgery and they're wasnt one, then when i got back they said i had a 'little' one yesterday, but the doctor said he didnt know much about incotinence(ugh!) Although i figured i would have one after surgery since i had a catheder in the whole time. So i got my meds and have been taking 2 of my oxybutyin and its still happening yet this morning, it seems it gets triggered every time i go to cath and i get to the edge of the chair and pull down my clothes and lean back it just starts going! it did that at the doctor and still this morning... i will most likely have to drive ahwile to get an answer, the uroligist here(i went to them when i was having some problems about 8 mo ago) wasn't ANY help! So the doctor blamed my 'little' UTI, for my vomiting, severe headaches and the incotinence! but i have had uti's before and it has never been like this.
i am just so frusterated!

If you are vomiting and having headaches it sure sounds like more than a little UTI. Hope you get this figured out soon and feel better.

It stops me from having those spastic pee's. Also Ive had better luck with real cranberry concentrate (they sell it at GNC it also has rosemary in it) you mix it in with the water for the big chug. I'm also now trying olive leaf extract, i haven't had to use it for a uti yet.. but these crips round' here say its good, and i trust em. give it a try maybe it will work for you.

I have had a number of reconstructive surgeries to my pelvis where I had to have an indwelling penile catheter. I always noticed that afterwards it took me a while for the urethra to go back to its normal size when at rest. I'd pee when I stood up or sat up or walked because that is when the abdominal muscles would cause pressure on my bladder. I think the catheters do stretch the urethra and the urethral sphincter but it does tend to gain its elasticity back in around a month.
In a case where you may have little manual control over it, it could explain why you may have incontinence when scooting forward in your chair. I found it would pass off in a few weeks. I also have incontinence occasionally when I have sugar, coffee, alcohol or lots of rest. Cheap orange juice also does it to me, the combination of a lot of sugar and food acid seems to cause a mass evacuation. Times like Christmas tend to exacerbate things for me as if I am not careful a "perfect storm" of all the above occurs and I end up suffering from increased UTI's. Of course UTI's can also cause incontinence but I find certain strains can aggravate incontince issues more than others. I find parsley tea works for me, 20g (3/4 oz) coarsley chopped in 2.4l (4 pints) of water works well to alleviate it for a couple of days. Simmer the parsley and water for five minutes, steep for 15 minutes and strain it. Drink it over a period of three hours to flush out the bladder. Follow that with a cup of acidophilus yoghurt to restore the natural balance. I find sugary cranberry (like the standard ocean spray) aggravates mine so use the parsley tea and acidophilus routine.
Oh, and one other thing - I find general anaesthetics, xylocaine gel and sleeping tablets don't help either. It all has to go out somewhere and mostly it is through the bladder. Seems it puts things to sleep down there. General anaesthetics can take a while to exit the system so that could be affecting you too.

And like the others, certain liquids like brown soda pop, iced tea and other beverages heavy in caffeine irritate the heck out of me, and made me lost control if I had even the tiniest trace of UTI.
I wonder if your headaches and vomiting might be some AD caused by your bladder spasming?

ahhh.. i had my surgery the 30th.. last night i put in a cathader because I was going to drink later, i even had incotinence while I was getting ready, not even drinking... and there was hardley any urine with the incotinence or left in my bladder. it did this again later on in the night, but i still didnt drink much for it to do it.
