Hello All,

I live in Upstate New York where the weather can be quite cold in the winter months. I'm active in the winter skiing and snowmobiling, however, within the last year I've noticed that my fingers get cold more rapidly than in the past. During any outdoor winter activity, my fingers and fingertips freeze and take forever to warm after coming in from the cold. I'm a T-11 para and was wondering if anyone else experiences this problem. I know the cure is to move to the south where it's warm, however, I love the fall and winter months :) I appreciate any responses. THANKS !!

PS This issue really became bad within the last year

Sure it's not a circulation issue? I realize as I get older, it's tougher for me to deal with extreme hot or cold. I live in the South, so we don't get as much cold weather for as long as you do up there, but we do have some excessive heat & humidity.

I'm going to go with just worsening circulation. I live in the south and the small bit of cold we get drives me nuts with my finger tips going dead and tingly. I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of gloves for awhile now. I think I've found em as so far I haven't had frozen fingers this winter.

If you're having trouble with your fingers getting cold I'd suggest you start taking more notice of your toes.

I have Reynauds Syndrome which affects my hands and feet also tip of my nose!!! this might be something similar so it could be worth running it past your gp next time you are there.

You might also get your thyroid checked...low thyroid function can impact a whole host of things.
