Hey guys!
My situation is that I am new to the "sitting" world, because I had a bedsore and I was on bed rest until it closed a few weeks ago. Nowadays I am sitting a lot more, but I have found that I am having accidents at night. I use a regular cath every 4 to 6 hours, during the day I urinate regularly, but at night I fill almost two bags or have a major accident. My urine is a bit cloudy, with some white stuff that regularly floats around, but mostly clear. I find that after a lot of sitting my feet are swollen and I think I might be retaining water. The last week these accidents have become more frequent and last night was horrible! I got a lot of chills and felt horrible, my girlfriend said I had symptoms of an allergic reaction, but now after reading a few other posts, I am wondering if perhaps I could have kidney stones.
Any suggestions on what I might be able to do to stop the accidents?

Getting over the infection will quite possibly be a good help for the night time problems. I sometimes sleep with a piece of plastic (even a trash sack) under a towel beneath me. Then you just have to change the towel instead of the whole bed at 2AM. Certain strains make me more susceptible to night time leakage. Different things affect different people. I find that sugar, alcohol and remaining inactive don't help me much, both symptoms of a good Christmas unfortunately. Your symptoms such as cloudiness and "floaters" are a definite sign but the chills are usually in my case signs of a more severe bladder and/or kidney infection so I would get to the doctor or urologist quick smart.
Keep your fluids up and perhaps keep some ural or cranberry in the house. I also find parsley tea helps and usually have some parsley growing at home. I have found that natural remedies ward off infection or reduce the symptoms but antibiotics will (almost) always nuke the little buggers. Not sure how things work where you are but I have a card for repeat MSU's (Mid Stream Urine tests) and when I get the symptoms I just shoot down to the medical lab and drop in a sample. I get a prescription faxed to the pharmacy a couple of days later. It helps me because I have a pretty hectic work schedule and sometimes it can take a few weeks before I make the time for a doctors appointment.
