I've takeen oxybutinin for years and years and went from 10mg to 30mg but still leak, I just tryed the patches ( kentera in the uK), but after 3 weeks using them I've apparently be come allergic to the glue (went red and blistered under the patch, which was a shame, cos although i would say say they only 70% worked, I didnt have a dry mouth!! So my GP has changed me over to Detrunorm 30mg, as a starting dose.
I was wondering if anyone else had changed their magic anti-pee drugs after so many yrs, and wondered if it actually worked for them. I was hoping to go and have the TVT done but my Urologist said that my sphincter is ok for now, and its just overactivity in the wall muscles. He said about having botox, but he also said its great for the first few months, maybe, and then it becomes quite a regular trip as your body just gets used to having it, and then thers another one, actually putting oxybutynin in to the bladder with bladder flush, but dont really want to go down that route, sounds infection risky!

Anyone got any ideas about all of this? I'm looking for a magic wand obviously!! LOL

Emma.

Hi Emma,

Am I correct in thinking you have a SPC? I had an SPC fitted about 3 years ago and still get urethral leakage. I've tried oxybutinin but like you got a dry mouth and still had urethral leakage.

I now wear 2 leg bags and sometimes 2 night bags as I leak as much as 750mls in a night. I'm not interested in more surgery so I'll just carry on as I am, but its easier for me, I'm a male and I'm old.

I hope someone here has an answer for you. Good luck.
