Hi Guys,

I have been in a chair for a few years now, and have not ever had a problem with skin issues. I have recently found blister on my bum. I am well aware that pressure sores to be worried about start as red marks and grow from there - but I am unsure about blisters. I have spoken to my doc, who said not to worry and to use some pimple wash on it. But this hasn't changed things.
Any one have any suggestions..??

Hi,

I had a blister on my secrum a few years back, it was due to shearing of the skin from not getting enough clearance when I transfered.

I caught it early, and after 4 days of staying in bed, the skin hardened off, and I was able to start getting up again. After a week of being careful, it was healed enough for me to get up as usual.

The only way to heal it, is to keep off it, keep it clean, and try to identify what caused it in the first place.

Regards

Simon

Welcome to the "never did that before" club. I just blistered my left buttocks sitting on the AC power module of my Macbook. I have not had a buttocks i jury in 28 years so I was pissed and embarrassed. Make sure you keep it clean so you don't acquire an infection. Don't pop the blister. If it pops, try some silvadine followed by duoderm patcges. Most important is to invest some time into staying off the injury so oxygen rich blood can do its healing work .
