My partner is now 4 months out of hospital and getting very bored.

Does anybody have any advice about Disabled sports in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire or Hertfordshire?

I want to try to get him involved in some new things and I would be very grateful for any help x

hi there was wheelchair basketball at stanground community college in stanground peterborough, i think its still going, you should be able to find out from peterborough city council sports section , who should be able to transfer you to right dept using tel 01733 747474,
also there is sailability at ferrymeadows watersports centre i think its all day tuesdays not sure who the organiser is but if you click on this link it'll give you a tel no for the centre they can point you in correct direction http://www.lakesideleisure.com/
rutland water nr oakham also have sailability, dont have details or anything but you should find them on internett, might also be worth asking at gratham waters and pitsford resivoir they might have sailability i'm not sure.

Hi dee342

What about Blokarting (land yachting). www.theblsa.com

They do it at beaches mainly but they also go to Bovingdon in Hemel Hempstead.

We live in Flitwick, Bedfordshire and my partner (not disabled) said as long as you have ability in your arms (preferably both) you can do blokarting.

If you are local and wanted to have a look and a chat about it you are more than welcome. Just give us an email.

They have a "have a go day" this Sunday April 5th in the morning, it costs £10 (for insurance) if you fancy it, again just get in touch.

Hi,
How about Sailing. We sail at Caldecotte Lake near Miltonkeynes. Visit www.mksailability.co.uk for details.

Dee

You could try Heron Lake (just off J13 of M25) which specialises in disabled water-skiing. Google the lake and it should come up with contact details.

Hemel Hempstead now has a new indoor ski slope, so you could try skiing, contact Disability Snowsport Uk.

If you travel there is Blokarts, Kite-Buggying and Surfing in Cornwall. Mobius do the kite-buggying at Perranporth beach, and the surfing goes on at Polzeath.

Not sure where the local basketball team is, but look at Wheelpower or Parasport websites.

Cheers

Talan
