Not really sure where to put this as there isn't a section for it...

I'm in central London at uni and looking at accomodation for next year...

How can I go about finding somewhere with access?

I typed wheelchair into gumtree and 4 places came up and whilst they have access the bathroom wasn't in the photos. I would be able to manage but it would mean showering on the floor as there is a step up to the shower lol!

Is it impossible?

In an ideal world I'd buy my own flat and then get it adapted but this isn't an ideal world :yikes:

So what are my options?

Is it a big problem everywhere else too?

Thanks, Ryan.

properties to rent are always a tricky one, but most of the accessible developments are found along the river or in docklands and therefore provide the most likely source of places. some agents specialise in letting these riverside places - maybe try them.
also, have you tried your student union? surely you're not the first to need this. they might be able to help.
i fear you might not find any cheap solutions but being based in london you know that anyway..

Well at the moment I'm paying £130 a week in my student halls so not expecting it to be cheap, but that does include bills, internet etc.

Docklands is probably a bit out of the way, and I've heard it's pretty upmarket i.e. expensive lol!

I haven't tried my student union, but there is a disability and equality service I could consult.

I was thinking of applying for a council place and giving up my house at home...but I don't want to end up in a rough area...

My uni is on the strand so ideally I want to be as close to their as possible, which unfortunately means expensive...
