My friend’s (see post: http://www.apparelyz...mp;#entry92689) doctor and family are starting to plan his move from the ICU in the United States to a stepdown or SCI unit in the UK. We’ve started to ask around for advice on making this transition as easy as possible and I figured I would turn here.

- Nothing has been planned on where he will end up in the UK. His parents live in Cheshire, so somewhere close to there would be useful, but I think they’d prefer the *best* place. Any recommendations for neuro wards and/or rehab facilities?

-No one has really told us how this transfer is going to work. Anyone have any experience with trans-continental hospital transfers?

-Any other advice/comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
