maybe I missed it but i'm surprised no one has mention jetskiing. I am now on my second waverunner and can't get enough of it! My first was a yamaha gp1200R. It was rediculously fast and gave me such a great feeling on the water!! Being able to appear able bodied and be faster than most other boats and skis on the water was a great feeling!

I just purchased a bigger 3 seater, yamaha vx110. More comfortable for longer rides and better for passangers.

Best thing is that NO modificatins are necessary to ride these things! You can pic them up used for a very resonable price and are easy to trailer!

Anyone in the Montreal area is welcome to come give it a rip this summer!

I also have a 18' lund fishing boat that I run all summer. Great way to get on the water all day and fish!

I'll post pics soon!

Love em, been riding em for about 12 years now during the summer. They can be a bitch to get on though when your in the middle of the lake by yourself. The bigger 3 seaters are to bad, but those little fast ones take just the right angle, otherwise you just roll off of it.

Yeah, jet skis are great.. I've been on a couple since my injury and they are an absolute blast. I was actually surprised at how smooth they are over the chop.

Yeah, no kidding! Love em as well; a lot of fun and no adjustments needed at all!

I went on a 2 hour jetski tour for my bucks party, had a ball but my ass was sore for week.

I think you need a bit of padding on the seat but we were out in the surf jumping waves that may have been half the problem.

I used to ride jetski's before my accident, evrytime there was a big swell i was out there.

To my suprise you can still get some good air just don't come off or you'll find it very hard to get back on in the surf.

These 2 pics were before my accident

Are the pics taken on the gold coast Australia?
If so the sand pumping jetty in the background is where I had my accident.

LOL Sorry I just noticed you are from the goldcoast
That top pic is where I went 30 feet inthe air to land on the sandbank after the wave suckedthe water out and caused my problems.

I'm on one quite a bit during the summer. Man do I wish i had some waves like that where i ride. Closest thing i got is the waves behind a loaded barge, which can also be quite entertaining.

How do you guys ride these? Sounds like a dumb question but I'm pretty strong with the arms and chest, but my back muscles and basic trunk balance suck due to not working out regularly. I'd LOVE to ride out on one of these things tho. Only choice to build up my trunk strength first?

Just get on one and try it you'll be surprised how easy it is, I'm T6 my balance is not good at all. If you have ridden a quad bike it's almost the same. You just use your upper body. :drooldrip:

I'm a T8 and I've ridden jetskis a million times. I like to ride them fast and I've had pretty much no problems doing it :) . They're fun. Try to stay on though because as someone mentioned, getting back on from the water is a real pain in the ass. Just climb on, start slow to get a feel for it and see how you stay on, and then go from there. No way to know unless you just go for it.
