Just a quick review of the Jurys Inn hotel in Brighton. I was down in Brighton for a NYE party and chose this hotel as it was modern and claimed to be accessible. I was given what was basically a standard room. Other than the wide doors (that all the rooms appeared to have) there was nothing to suggest that the room had been made wheelchair friendly. The bathroom was a joke. No wheel-in shower, and the toilet was behind the door (that opened inwards). I managed to figure out that by doing a 22 point turn I could close the door and get to the toilet.

The room itself was modern and tidy but quite small. It was a struggle moving my chair around the room as a result. But I was only there 1 night and to be honest it did the job.

I've not stayed in a Jurys Inn hotel before so I'm not sure if my stay is indicative of the entire chain or not, but for 1 nights basic accomodation it was acceptable. 2/5

Hi Zammo,

Sorry to hear you had such a bad time at Jurys Inn Brighton. We recently stayed at the Jurys Inn in Plymouth and I have nothing but praise for them. Disabled parking underneath the hotel, wheel in shower, large room and very friendly/helpful staff. I would definitely recommend Jurys Inn Hotel Plymouth. I would definitely write to them and complain and you never know you might get a refund.

take care

Dee

Thanks Dee, thanks makes me think that I just got a standard room then. We did ask for a disabled room. We didn't make a fuss because we knew we could cope even in the tight space. As I said, we were only there for 1 night so the lack of facilities was ok.
