I don't think the small amount of rain water will be able to do that. There are people that forget to close their sunroofs in the rain and still have it just fine.

I agree with Yong. If it was blowing rain into the car you could put a plastic bag over them. I drove my car for years in Oregon and never had a problem. Call the manufacturer of your controls and ask them.

What controls are we talking about, here??? If you are using a car, then you must be using a manual chair,,, or have someone to put your power chair in for you,,, and that doesn't sound like what you are asking.

My driving controls don't have any electrical parts attached and aren't subject to getting wet anyway.

I have both a van and a car,,, and the time it takes to deploy my lift, get on it and raise it to get in,,, isn't all that much quicker than the time it takes me to get in my car, disasemble and stow my chair,,,

Am I missing something,,,,,, I often do,, and will appologize in advance.

I don't see any problem with it. I think your sales guy is the stupid one.

Was this salesman brought up in the desert??

On most of the planet it rains at least 50% of the year and cars are kinda designed to cope with that! :mfrlol:

Most switches on doors have weather sealed connections, or weather sealed mounting. I worked in my father's auto parts store for a LONG time, and we sold the switches for lots of vehicles, and the most common cause we found for failed switches was people that didn't know hos to disconnect them and just broke the terminals off the switch when removing door panels. Switches will be fine, but u may want to not keep anything in the door pockets.lol.

The guy sounds like a dick. He doesn't know what he was talking about. Even if it was a problem, that is what fuses are for. And don't vans have electric windows sometimes? What is the bet vans are more expensive and he's a poor (as in bad) excuse for a salesman trying to scare you into buying one?
