Things I've noticed, just a few...that make me feel bad or irritate me.

1. When I'm rolling down a hallway and the person coming in the opposite direction, avoids making eye contact and moves to the far left or right of me like I was infective.
2. When I'm in an elevator and the person coming in hesitates a moment before getting in, then once inside, avoids eye contact and stands really far away...lol
3. When I'm in a crowded place and parents reach for their children and pull them close so I dont run them over....lol...as if I would.
4. People watching me tranfer into my truck, they just stand there the whole time.
5. People that say, how much they admire me, then say they couldnt do what I do, and that they would rather die....lol!
6. People that ask, what happened to you? and then proceed to say how horrible it is and give you the full pity treatment.
7. Children that start to push you...lol!

Just some, please feel free to add to this post!

Jorge some people just won't look another person in the eyes I don't know why they just don't.

Getting in your truck is something that most people haven't seen and humans are curious so give em a good show I do.

People that have been ran over by someone in a chair are justifiably cautious, Ive got a few of em over the years.

People who control their kids are OK in my book beats the little sticky fingered rug rats from playing with my wheels.

When people ask you the "?" just make up the craziest story you can think of and never the same tale twice. You must keep a straight face.

Ask the people that say they admire you for a $100.00 dollar loan.

Kids are Kids if it has wheels it must be a toy, gota love em.

Party On.............

Great answer Longhaul. :licklips:

Personally I rarely have any issues like that. Everyone is different to I take them as they come.

I always go to receptions desks, smile and say, "Hello! How are you today"? I find that breaks the ice where ever I go.

In lifts, there's usually mums with little kids in pushchairs. The little tots look up at me rather quizzically, so I smile at them and say, "My pushchair is better than yours"! The mum and the tot usually giggle, so when they leave the lift I hope they've both gained something.

People rarely ask what happened to me. If they're the patronising god squad type I tell them "I fell out a Brothel window".... That sends them packing.

I never have problems in shops, I find people are kind, helpful and friendly. If I smile and speak to them they smile and speak back.

In general, people are too busy gound about there everyday lives to think of others; no one ever stares at me so I never have an issue with anything like you have.

Try smiling and speaking first, I find it works for me. :ranting:

My b/f almost never gets stares... when he is in the Netherlands lol. Although I have to say we don't really go out of our way to notice it also lol.

Like Scribbler says; if you greet someone with a smile and say something like how are you today, it breaks the ice and they usually smile back and say something back. We also find people are very friendly and helpful, whether it is in shops, public transport, what have you. The couple of ignorant morons you meet on occasion have been placed there for us to have fun and laughter about later lol.

Longhaul and Scrib have pretty much covered it.

Once again, when dealing with others it's all about the attitude.

I agree with Longhaul, Scrib, and Ches!

It really is all about your attitude. I hardly even notice if people do things like that because I rarely care what people think of me.

If people want to stare I don't stop them, if they don't want to look at me, big deal.

The only thing that annoys me if when people talk to me like I'm a child, or like I'm stupid. Even more so if it's from someone who should know better! I don't let it really bother me though, I just smile and internally laugh at their ignorance.

The only people I've found who do the things on that list to me are other people in wheelchairs-the general public doesn't really seem to notice the chair-well, except kids and i think that's just jealousy cuz i have a much nicer "stroller" than theirs lol.

As far as being talked to like I'm a 'tard-last time that happened, I totally deserved it.

A window in a house where ladies of pleasure apply their skills. [Oh to be young and innocent again!]
