Michael Phelps hit the news today. Pictures of him with a bong. And I thought he was some kind of robot. It’s nice to see he is part of the human race. Sorry about his endorsements. Maybe he could advertise for one of E-Dog’s adventures.

Maybe he was just experimenting with how to build lung capacity. Let's not jump the gun and judge him to quickly!-hehe

Wasn't he the guy from the early sixties TV show where somebody is given a million dollars and they showed how it screwwed up their lives?

They only called him " Mr. Phelps" as I remember.

Why am I asking you guys???? Most of you weren't born yet.

With cameras in most every cell phone there is no such thing as privacy. He isn't training and never tested dirty so what he did is still an amazing feat. That photo will cost him millions.............................Hi Mom

Not being able to swim again because of this is a true shame. But, on another note.........I bet he'd be fun to hang out with now that we know he's not a machine and is really human! Damn, cameras everywhere! None of us neer-do-wells can ever get away with any sort of scandalous fun any more!! Damned Big Brother!!

What's the deal???? Was he convicted of something????

If not,, and he can beat the competition,,, how can they stop him from competeing???

As far as I'm concerned,, as long as he's clean when in competition,, what's the big deal???? It's not like he's hurting anyone else by smoking a bit of ganza,,,, hell, tobacco's worse.

Presidents have done it, top sportsmen are doing it everywhere, intellectuals and musicians like to do it. Is anyone NOT doing dope? Yet we have this silly public outrage portrayed by the media. The only outrage I see here is the little shit who sleavily took an opportunity to destroy an athletes career for a few quick bucks and a moment of infamy.

But I'd still like to see Michael Phelps react honestly and say most people he knows use it and he's done it plenty of times before, it's great fun with no harm and better than booze. C'mon Michael.

Yeah, but they weren't sitting on Wheaties boxes with millions of dollars vested with endorsements riding on him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see his medals on E-bay soon so he can make ends meat.

Why should it ruin a career???? We have ex-presidents who admit to trying it,,, tho one says he didn't inhale ( he also said he "didn't have sex with that woman")

So what's the big deal,,,, other than the hypocritical "moral majority" who don't want their kids doing what they won't admit that they did themselves.

I just heard today that he has been suspended for threee months by the organization that pays him to train and compete,,,,, OH ,, wait,,, he gets what is called a stipend,,,,that's so he can still be called an amateur,,,, a holdover from when it was thought that people actually believed they were amateurs. Any way,, he doesn't get his stipend for three months,, Big whoo.

The clip they showed while telling us this tidbit,, was of him entering his local training facility for a practice session......... Life goes on.

My hope is that the asshole who took and sold the picture,, contracts herpes,,,,, well,, no,,, that's a bit harsh,,,, maybe just head lice.

Who cares what his sexual preference is and about his recreational use of a minor drug? He was and is a great athlete and I hope he continues to be. He made us all feel the wonder and excitement of reaching a magnificent goal. Can any of us really pass on the standards the media sets and then abuses?

Swimming isd one of these sports where it is train train train and then early to bed. on your own. I know that because my exhusband was back stroke champ, and I used to dive. now I can hardly swim, but the ones in training it takes over there lifes. so they need some fun. how easy for people who cannot make the grade to sit back and be so po faced, and now perhaps he know who he friends are, possible no one,

Now the "Authorities" are trying to bring a case against him,,,,,, can you believe this????

Go arrest one of the crack dealers that can be found on almost any corner in any US urban area,,, and leave the one time,, or even occasional smoker of a bit of vegetation,, alone.

It is being done,,, so it is said,,, to set an example...... What's the example???? Work hard all you life, and make one mistake and we will come down on you hard???

Hard to believe there are so many, walking around with, what are apparantly successful, penis to cranium transplants.

It's, truthfully, not all that different from the controversy over performance inhancing drugs,,,,,Other than the sports betters,,, who does it hurt? The players???? Their choice...

I'm from Pittsburgh,,, well close, anyway,,,, and all I hear is "We won",,or " We went all the way",,,,, Bullshite!!!! If you didn't play,,, YOU didn't win anything. I have never understood this need for vicarious success.

Of the many things I'd like to see happen,,, one is for the general public to finially understand that professional sports,, of ANY kind, , are not needed,,,,, and stop watching,, and caring.

Maybe then, those hyperthyroid freaks could all get on with their life's work,,,,, mostly in the lifting and grunting industry, I should think.

Sorry to hijack the thread for that rant,,,,, couldn't help myself.

I agree with Nomis. The only thing shameful about this is that some beaut decided to post the picture all over the internet. College kids can be morons when it comes to discretion. It is not always awesome to post pictures of you and your friends getting wasted on the internet.
