a year ago, i fell down from the height of 12 feet while doing general drill in rescue boat,as a result i broke my spinal cord at the t 12 level. now i am paraplegic below the waist. my company did my treatment for nine months,then after they send me a notice of termination and stop my treatment.now i am paying myself for the treatment. as their offer as my compentation was very low, i didn't accept their proposasl and sue the comapany. for this, one the person who works for the seamen mission help me to find the lawyer and he is looking after my case. i know nothing about the law and i am alone here.i can't returned back to my home country because lawyer and the expert thinks i must stay here.so, i am just following them. i am a legal added person. i just do what my lawer says.but some people says that i must be careful because i may be cheated by them.i don't know how much will i get and when.my bill's of hospital is increasing daybyday and it's all in due.i have to belive whatever the lawer says.my family can't help me in this matter.
so, please i need urs advice what should i do. and in what things i should be very careful.
