Hi everyone. I have posted here a few times, but couldn't remember my old user name so I had to open a new account. A little background info, my name is Emily. Me and my husband Tony have been together for 8 years, married for 5. My husband is 54, and was born with Spina Bifida. These last three years, my husband's health has drastically gotten worse. My husband is in so much pain. He has spasms in many places, the most painful ones being in the spinal area. He has 4 vertabraes fused together. He has been going to Physical Therapy every day. At first it was helping, but now they are only able to help a little if any. My husband is on Meloxicam and Vicodin.(as well as other meds for other ailments) What he really needs is muscle relaxers, but those will interfere with bladder control meds, which he is not willing to give up. Lately my husband has been having upset stomach, which I believe is from all the meds he takes.
Many days my husband is in so much pain, he just lays in bed and takes it one second at a time. I haven't told a single souls this, but he has spoken of wanting to put a bullet through his brain and says he cant take this anymore. It's really hard to watch my husband hurt like this, and not be able to do anything to stop it. He also has two torn rotator cuffs. One is severe, the other is mild. He is considered a poor candidate for surgery so they will not operate.
We really dont know where we could get marijuana from. But sheesh the way my husband has to live is unacceptable. He'll try anything. I really think marijuana could help with his muscle spasms. We are hoping to somehow find a source soon. But meanwhile, we would like to know of others experience with it, and if anyone knows if it interferes with bladder control meds? Also what is the cost nowadays, and how do you reccomend taking it, and what amount?
Oh, I forgot to mention what level his paralysis is. I dont know all the numbers. His scar is way down low on his back. He has a little bit of feeling in his thighs and none at all down lower. His scar is large with alot of scar tissue. Back in 50's when they closed the lesion on my husband's spine, they did not have all the fancy technology we have now, which is why he has so much scar tissue. The 4 fused vertabraes are up higher on the spine, right about in the middle.

My husband used to take Ditropan. He took it for a loooooooong time. He recently switched to Vesicare. He is very happy with the Vesicare. I would imagine if pot does not interfere with Ditropan it would not interfere with Vesicare either. Thanks for your reply!

That's encouraging to hear that it has helped you.
Sorry to be clueless as it has been too long, but an ounce would last my husband approx. how long if he smoked two joints a day?

If your husband uses a vaporizer, it will be healthier for him. Never had any problems with my bladder. But of course I'm more a once a week/once every 2 weeks user ...
Regarding tolerance, if you can change from one strain to another when you realize the effect is getting less strong, then you will never reach any tolerance effect. And believe me, there are A LOT of different strains for you to try on.
I hope you'll get some relief.
