Hiya

Do I read correctly that you are having a colostomy operation? Have you searched around to see who has had one, the pro's and cons etc?

Also have you considered peristeen anal irrigation if you are fed up with going to the loo?

Hello
I had one 10 years ago but I got fed up waiting to go in a spinal centre so I went into a general hospital,
that was a big mistake.
they did not have any experence of how to handle a spinal injured person,
but I servived,
but it was one the best thing I have had done,
go for it.

Mic,
I had mine done here in the States. It's routinely done when having a sacral flap surgery. It didn't go off without a hitch though. After five days of no bowel movement, well no solids anyway, I coded blue. After reviving me, slit me open and found there was a half twist in my large intestine. The surgeons then cut out three and a half feet of gangrene. I recovered quickly and started an ostomy program that is cleaner and less intrusive. Iwould reccomend it. Mark
