I've been using the Magic Bullet suppositories for over a year and went to re-order from the suppliers website www.seatedlife.com only to read 'currently out of stock' so I wrote asking when new stock is anticipated and to my shock received the following reply:

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of Seated Life we would like to apologise for withdrawing our Magic Bullet product for sale to you. We were advised to do this with the restructure of our company. Since, our announcement we have been simply overwhelmed by the level of concern from you on how to obtain this product and have decided to find a alternative solution for you. We now write to tell you that we are currently working and preparing to be able to offer you this medicine, through a partnership that we have developed in the UK, within a very short period of time.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to you and would like you to be assured that we are doing everything in our power to get this product to you as soon as possible.

As soon as we are in a position to offer this service to you again, we will be in touch.

Assuring you of our best intentions at all times.

Best regards

Jim Kelly

Director

Seated Life

Being disgusted by the lack of pre-notice to its customers I've written back to them and await a reply but not expecting much if anything:

Hi

Would it not have been kind to give your customers some notice of the withdrawal of the product bearing in mind its difficult to return to the standard ducolax suppository. Are you able to explain what this has to do with restructuring your company and why is it being completely withdrawn from the market, there's obviously something more behind these actions.

i've been c4 since 1981 and now using the standard ducolax doesn't have the same effect. The magic bullet contains a water soluble base (Polyethyl Glycol) compared to other bisacodyls that use hydrogenated vegetable oil as a base. They produce results within 15 minutes with an overall bowel programme reduced from anything up to 3 hours to 90 minutes maximum but often within an hour and with greater results and less digital stimulation. My body often produces very little results with the standard ducolax leading to a build up and problems associated with that ie sweating, bowel accidents. Overall since using the magic bullet i feel more confident and the time saved is a godsend.

Obviously, they wouldn't have withdrawn a product with the following of the magic bullet, for any reason short of litigation. The "restructuring" bit sounds like whoever holds the patents wants out,,, and is holding out for a better price.

Free marketing at it's best/worst.

You might try Enemeez as an interim substitute,,, they are also water based,,, and are pretty popular, too.

Scotsman,

I can't tell by your profile if you are in the USA, but if you are you can get Magic Bullets from this website. I've been using them since 1978, they work much faster than anything else I've tried.

Hope this helps, hope you can get them again.

I had a look at Enemeez but at $77 for 30 plus international shipping they are way too expensive.

Jerry
I'm in Scotland but what a coincidence as I discovered Access to Recreation yesterday and noticed they had the cheapest price I've come across at $39.95 so I've already emailed asking them to quote a price including shipping. Excuse my ignorance but this is American dollars and not CAD?

Access to Recreation have now replied with a quote of $40 for shipping so total $79.95 for a box of 100, I've no choice but to go ahead and order.

Seatedlife www.seatedlife.com emailed on 4th dec wishing me a merry christmas and reminding me to re-order soon if needed due to the upcoming long holiday period. It may be the case they were trying to shift stock before withdrawing the product as those suppliers who still hold stock have an expiry date of June 2009, I believe the shelf life is 6 months (although its said they are fine for much longer) so it doesnt take much working out when production stopped.

Are your required medications not available on the NHS? I only ask as magic bullets were freely available in the spinal unit when I was there 5 years ago.

Stewart or anyone else, if you have further trouble getting Magic Bullets, I order them from the website www.conceptsinconfidence.com They are $57.70 for a box of 100, plus postage in the USA. This website is the home of the manufacturer. Even though Medicaid won't pay for them here, I find they're worth the price.

I always get mine from the above website, just got a box last week. Give Don Krebbs a call if you have problems with the website, I don't usually unless the manufacture has an issue. Let Don or one of his reps know that his old rehab buddy Jerry Johnson referred you to his website.

FYI, there are some great cranberry pills on the same page as the magic bullets, I've been using both for decades; they can be found in Don's Solutions...enjoy.

I was at the Abilities Expo 2 weekends ago and was fortunate enough to get a sample of ENEMEEZ. It's a newer product on the market that is packaged like single use enemas. My bowel program has gone from 2 1/2-3 hours to half the time, 1-1 1/2 hours. I'm elated at the difference in time it takes, and I have no more worries about residual accidents that suppositories tend to cause.

I know, others here have been touting this and other new enema products on the market. I just got on the band wagon and I'm glad I did . . . . . finally!!
