Hi,
The dentist I was registered with are completely inaccessible - they are in a converted Edwardian/Victorian house so I've not seen a dentist in ages as a result. (They are tricky to get into even if you are fit, active and well! The council refused to allow them to make themselves accessible!) Just before Christmas, I broke a tooth!
Where I live, you have to be referred to the 'Special Needs Dental Service' by your current dentist or your GP. Locally they assess if you 'need' to be seen by them or not and I was even told that being a full-time wheelchair user and unable to sit straight because of scoliosis, as well as 'brittle asthma'/'severe chronic asthma' as well as other conditions did not 'necessarily' mean that I would qualify! (I had a horrific asthma attack, the worst I've had in a while on Thursday, which was brought on by an automatic air freshener which sprayed itself whilst I was using a disabled toilet - I pulled the alarm for assistance and no one came!
Just by Googling "Manchester Special Needs Dental Service", the first site is: http://www.manchester.nhs.uk/local/a_z.asp...ter=D&id=74 - quoting from that page:
Quote
What does the service provide?

Where and when is the service available?
Manchester dental clinics
How can people access the service?
People can self-refer or be referred by other health or social service professionals or other sources.
How to contact the service
The Service can be contact centrally at
The Dental Department
Mauldeth House
Mauldeth Rd West
Chorlton
Manchester
M21 7RL
Tel. 0161 958 4011
You can also contact the dental clinics directly.
Luckily, it looks like you are able to self-refer so they should be able to help you either with treatment or to find a dentist which suits your needs.
Other peops, if you need an accessible dentist, you can search on the 'NHS Choices' website where you can find out about 'standard' dentists. If you cannot transfer easily and/or have additional needs which 'standard' dentists cannot meet, search for your local 'Special Needs Dental Service'. You may be lucky (as in Manchester) and able to self-refer or you may need a dentist or GP to refer you. (Though how a dentist can refer you if you cannot get into a dentist surgery because they are not accessible, I don't know!)
If you look at the 'podiatry' info on the Manchester NHS pages, you may find the info you need there. Specific page: http://www.manchester.nhs.uk//local/a_z.as...ter=P&id=47 Also, ask your GP - they may well need to refer you for chiropody/podiatry.
Hope this helps,
Good luck with getting the treatment you need!
Best wishes,
Cat

I can just say try it and see, the worst that can happen is that they will say no and recommend somewhere else that will also be accessible
I hope you can find something soon
Take care

I can't remember the name of it at the moment, where I go is the Shipley Health Centre near Asda and the Swimming pool, (not the surgery directly next to Asda car park), it is on the 1st floor, if you ring up the surgery they should be able to give you their phone number or you could just pop in, I know Cleckheaton isn't far away. They are also based in a surgery on ?Park Avenue near BRI, it's one that has a lot of outreach services in.
If you need more information (which you probably will lol) just let me know and I'll have a deep look for it
Take care
