About two weeks ago I went down to London on my own for 2 nights and saw the Lion King at the Lycuum Theatre. The access to the theatre, it's toilets and the stalls were fine. Also, I was only charged £20 (half price) for my ticket and was given a space about 6 rows back from the front of the stage, where they had removed a seat which I parked my wheelchair in.
Generally I found the streets of London fairly accessible with lots of drop curbs, only problem was that some of the shops/resteraunts had steps at the entrance so was unable to get in as I was on my own. But, then again most of these places were places I wouldn't go in anyway.
Stayed at the 'Travelodge' in Covent Garden as I've found that this range of hotels seems to have the best adapted rooms compared with of most of the hotels I've stayed in, plus they are reasonably priced.
Last year I went to a Newton Faulkner gig at the Manchester Appollo, again the facilties were fine and there was a raised platform at the back of the adotorium for for us disabled, which provided a decent unobstructed view of the stage.
I will be seeing Newton Faulkner again in June of this year at the Royal Opera House in Buxton, again tickets are half price and will be going alone.
Later

There's disabled parking at the back of the Trent Arena in Nottingham, and you can park outside the doors at the LG Arena.
Very handy!

The last comedians we saw were Eddie Izzard (in San Diego) and Brian Regan (in LA) - totally hilarious
Sounds like you've got some fun stuff lined up, Simon.

All I can usually afford though is small club gigs so since they're just local bands I'll just leave it at "Jumping Turtle" & "4th & B" (the clubs I go see bands at).
By the way Simon I LOVE Depeche Mode! (I don't love just heavy metal) That would be an awesome show to see.

Fair play that a loaded schedule.
I'm going to see the blue man group as well but I'm seeing the Cardiff date which I believe is the 15th of May.
Other music events I'm going to are Oasis at the Cardiff millennium and then the following night Elton John back in Bristo.
Cannot remember the dates think they are around the middle of summer.
Sports events are
The Ashes at Edgbaston
And a one-day international against the West Indies in Bristol.
I'm a little bit worried about cricket in Bristol as it in May which is was a bit dodgy weatherwise.
Anyone gigging in London who needs accommodation and uses a hoist look up the Holiday Inn Kensington they have overhead hoists which was sheer bliss!

Sorry Jane, just saw your reply!
Unfortunately, we always eat before we go, so I'm not too sure about places to eat.

He wasn't too sure if Stoke or Nottingham took title of chav city of the UK after watching locals pull clothes off their toddlers and making them walk in the fountains :-)
11pm in Nottingham on a Friday night and the girls barely have any clothes on!

Walrus, I saw Slipknot in December last year at Newcastle Arena with Children of Bodom and Machine Head. Utterly amazing.
If the 'wheelchair platform' is anything like as good as the one at Newcastle Arena, you're in for a treat.
