This film is the absolute success in France and Germany at the moment. Hardly possible to get tickets. And worth seeing ...
.... an incredible mix of the melancholy and the totally funny and the heart-warming ...
great actors. A very French film. True story, BTW.
Not sure everybody likes the non-politically-correct humour. I did. My SCI friend did, too.

Intouchables
From Wikipedia
Intouchables (Untouchable) is a French film directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano.
In just 9 weeks after its release in France on November 2, 2011, it became the second most successful French film of all time (in number of spectators) in the French box office, behind the 2008 film Welcome to the sticks.
The feel-good dramatic comedy has become a cultural phenomenon in France where it was voted cultural event of the year 2011 by 52% of the French.
The movie tells the development of the improbable friendship between Philippe, a wealthy tetraplegic, and Driss, a young offender of Senegalese descent, who is hired as his live-in carer.
The plot of the film is inspired by a true story discovered by the directors in a 2004 documentary film.
--------------------------
The film won the Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix award given to the best film at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Award for Best Actor to both Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy in 2011.
In the United States , a review published in Variety finds the movie "offensive" ,"which flings about the kind of Uncle Tom racism one hopes has permanently exited American screens". In the film Driss (Omar Sy) is of Senegalese descent. Most French journalists do not understand such an interpretation and highlight the cultural issue that America has with anything linked to ethnicity.
-------------------
(I chose the German trailer as the English version focuses on scenes I like a lot less. No German necessary - the scenes speak for themselves.)
Disclaimer: I apologize for this really LONG post .. I just couldn't decide what to leave out.

I like foreign films. I want to see this one as well.
Recently I watch two movies which are foreign
The Stoning of Soraya M. which is based on a true story. Very sad of how women are portrayed in the muslim world.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1277737/
http://en.wikipedia....ing_of_Soraya_M
And another one titled Black Heaven which is a wicked drama film.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1479269/
There not new but their great movies.

I can agree with this too. The ending was all right, but the rest of it was pretty meh. Notice that its by a different director though, so that might explain it. I thought the first one was amazing, the atmosphere built up with those humming noises work great.

I recently saw War Horse. It is a remarkable movie but I cried in several spots due to it's depressing nature.
I to seen war horse! And also cried in several spots! Was a good film but a bit depressing and distressing! I didnt enjoy some scenes! I just bought the book, I may cry again! I didnt realise the story is told by the horse in the book, hopefully a good read!
