I have been a C4 quad now for 21 years and in all that time I have used condom caths but I would often get wet whether it be a leek due to only part of the condom not sticking to my penis after a while, or the whole condom coming right off and there is NOTHING more frustrating. :)
I always use SELF ADHERING condoms but the glue on all the condoms I tried NEVER seemed to last, hence why I was getting wet so often and worst still when us guys start to HYPERREFLEX or DYSREFLEXIA then our penis would shrink allot making condom caths being successful basically impossible.

A friend of mine introduced me to a adhesive called TORBOT BONDING CEMENT about 18 month ago and my problems were solved straight away. :)
The TORBOT BONDING CEMENT comes in a 4 ounce or 118 ml TIN that has a brush connected to the lid of the tin and all that is required is for you or someone to simply brush this on the base of the shaft of the penis, meaning where the shaft of the penis is closest to the pubic hair area. (Avoid putting adhesive on pubic hair)
If possible brush the paste on while your penis is hard although that's not a must and when brushing the paste on, you only want it to be about 3 to 6 ml or 1/8th or 2/8th of a inch thick right around the base of the penis.

There is also another product called URO-BOND which comes in a 1.5 ounce or 44 ml, or 3 ounce or 88 ml bottle. URO-BOND is basically applied the exact same way as the TORBOT. IF you are allergic to LATEX go with the URO-BOND as it is a SILICONE base adhesive not a LATEX base adhesive like the TORBOT BONDING CEMENT.

There is quite a price difference between the two, for example the TORBOT BONDING CEMENT cost a average of $11 American dollars for the 4 ounce or 118 ml tin and here in Australia I always paid $20 Australian dollars per tin.
The URO-BOND comes in a few varieties, the main two are the URO-BOND III and there's the URO-BOND IV and these costs average from $33 American dollars for the URO-BOND 3 which is the 3 ounce or 88 ml bottle and the average price for the URO-BOND 4 which also comes in a 3 ounce or 88 ml bottle is around $40 American dollars.

UNFORTUNATELY I just found out they no longer stock the TORBOT BONDING CEMENT here in Australia but I know they still stock it in America and other parts of the world. If there are Australians reading this and are wondering what the HELL they can use NOW.
Well there is the URO-BOND that we can still get here in Australia but I sure wont be paying $126 Australian dollars for a 88 ml bottle, My eyes almost popped out of my head when I was quoted the price.

NOTE: This information given below applies more for Australian residents.
I just ordered a adhesive for condom caths which is called SAUER-HAUTKLEBER that comes in a Tube, it comes in 26 or it could be 28 grams I'm not exactly sure, but it only costs $14 per tube and I have heard very positive reports about this product.
If they do not stock it where you usually purchase all your other supplies, then you can get it through a company called INTOUCH here in Australia and there number is 1300134260

WORST CASE SCENARIO, If you used TORBOT BONDING CEMENT in the past and loved the results as I did, then rest assured there are places where it can be ordered from places like Canada and America online as I was about to make a purchase for 12 tins, I must admit that it did work out to be around $32 Australian dollars per tin delivered to your door by ordering online.
In saying that there are many more sites that sell the TORBOT BONDING CEMENT cheaper in America but they refuse to freight it overseas because it is flammable, how ever if you had family or friends or knew someone in America then you could buy the TORBOT BONDING CEMENT online and have it sent to their address in America and then ask them to organise the freight over from America to your home address in Australia and im almost positive doing it this way will drop the price to approximately $20 Australian dollars per tin or possibly less.
As far as I am aware the only reason why the companies online wont freight it internationally is because when traveling ALL the airlines will not let individuals such as passengers travel with flammable goods such as hair sprays, aerosol deodorants and the likes. So doing it this way could be a win win possibility if the SAUER-HAUTKLEBER adhesive that comes in a tube doesn't work as well.

Hope some of this information helps

I always experienced skin breakdown issues using external caths, the glue always seemed to take off skin when I go to take it off at the end of the day... Now often during long plane flights, i'll go with a external catheter but as far as everyday use goes, i've found diapers work far better for me.

You might try a "Posey". They are padded velcro straps that hold the condom cath on your dick. Buy them at Sportaid.

I've been a condom cath user for over 40 years. I had used a latex based adhesive, Skin-Bond, but I had problems with it making the condom walls stick together and no urine would pass. Nice having a water balloon on the end of your dick. I switched to Uro-Bond III several years ago and while it is expensive, I like it much better. Some users change their cath set-up daily, but I prefer about every four days. I guess I have good skin because I've never had a problem with irritation on the old Johnson.

WOW do you change your condom cath every 4 days? Wouldn't you suffer from bad UTI infections?
Don't get me wrong It would be fair to say almost if not ALL Quadriplegics would have a UTI infection of some sort without knowing, or some kind of bug/s in there bladder regardless of what they use, but what I meant was by you keeping the same condom on for 4 days straight wouldn't that cause you to get those bad ass UTI infections that cause you to become symptomatic to?

Also how do you shower without washing the ''old johnson'' as you put it. lol
I change my condom every morning and shower every morning, I would go CRAZY if I didn't shower daily and especially having the ''old johnson'' un washed for 4 days which literally cannot get air due to the condom cath it must stink to HIGH heaven when you take off the condom cath. :)

I even change my overnight bags daily...

I went through about an eight year period of periodic UTIs, not from condom cath use, but from an over restrictive bladder sphincter. I had two sphinterectomies to weaken the urinary sphincter and ease drainage. I haven't taken any antibiotics in over 15 years. If I've had a UTI, I'm completely unaware of it and have had no symptoms to my knowledge. I've always been big on keeping my water/fluid intake up to ensure things are well flushed out.

I shower with the condom cath on. Unless it has gotten loose, soap and water don't affect it staying on. When I change it, I wash very thoroughly with antibacterial soap and let things air out a bit. I've never had a problem with being stinky. Yes, there's urine smell when the old one is taken off. But that's what soap and water is for. If I keep my fluid intake up, it's not a problem. It must be genetics because I've never had a problem with maceration on my penis.

As far as leg-bags and overnight bags, I have to pay for them out of pocket, so I change them when they start getting brittle and before they spring a leak. They get rinsed out after use and with a calcium remover, like CLR, to keep everything free flowing and fresh.
My method works for me, but it may not for everybody.

Credit to you mate, that is AWESOME not having any UTI's for 15 years. (TOUCH WOOD) I wish I could say that about myself. I would estimate that I take antibiotics approximately 3 to 5 times a year to treat UTI's that my body becomes symptomatic too, or reacts too.

I have had two sphincterotomies also and my last Urodynamics showed my bladder didn't contract any more but in all honesty im not a big fan of urodynamics because for some reason with my quadriplegia I have allot of troubles urinating if things are not right and when they do the urodynamic test they roll me on my side and also insert a balloon up my rectum and I know for a fact that when im on my side the way they roll me and more importantly with that balloon in me then that combination is enough to stop my normal bladder function.

I call my bladder MR SENSITIVE because as soon as my body gets slightly cold I stop peeing, or if im not sitting perfect I wont urinate plus so many more things. I cannot say I know a quad that has so many problems that cause them to stop urinating like myself, it's weird.
Once I stop urinating I just get someone to push or apply pressure on my bladder and then the urine will gush out, or trickle out depending on how much is it it at the time.

My urologist was contemplating putting me on a indwelling catheter but after researching and asking other quads they ALL said too keep away from the indwelling catheters so I have.
Once again thats FANTASTIC that you haven't had a UTI in 15 years. I also pay for everything myself which sucks I know.

I use a condom catheter and some tape called Micro Foam tape. It's a 3M product that I get on Amazon of all places. Holds well, I change it once a day and also use a foley bag at night. Just unplug from the leg bag and plug into the foley bag and I'm good to go.
