My bother-in-law was unable to stand up on 23.07.04 morning when he went for toilet. Immediately he was edmitted to hospital in city and operated on 24.07.04.

Operated by Dr. K C Jain M. CH. ( Neurosurgen) at ASHAKTASHRAM HOSPITAL, RAMPURA, SURAT-395 003

Pateint was discharged on 05.08.04
Biopsy was done on 29.07.04 at Desai Clinical Laboratory Surat,
MRI was done on 23.07.04 at MRI Centre Surat.
There after physiotherapist was engaged for daily exercise. Doctor was giving assurance that everything would be all right within few months. However no recovery noticed and he was not able to lift his legs also there is no sensation in bottom part of body.
On 09.08.05 he was taken to KEM Hospital at Mumbai and Dr. Uday had invetigated the case. Also MRI was done on 08.08.05.
Now all doctors have opined that it can be cured. We are looking for help
I request to spare some time for me. Iam new to this site so I have not posted the reports. I will post the report in few days.

The doctors' theory must be that there is pressure or swelling on the spinal cord that can be relieved. If the cord had been damaged and scarred, full recovery wouldn't occur. You should ask what is causing the pressure or swelling, which must be what the docs are trying to determine. That said, it doesn't seem very helpful, nor should you take it as authoritative--but it may help you and your brother-in-law articulate questions to ask his doctors. Good luck.
