Hi all,
Is there such a thing as a replacement knob for the stove that extends the knob just a couple of inches? The ideal solution is a new stove with controls in the front but he's renting. He can almost reach the back - soooo close but not quite! I've seen a tool that's basically an aluminum wand with a grip on the end, but that doesn't seem like the most elegant solution, IMHO. I would think it would get in the way of the pots already on the burners.

This seems like such a simple adaptation but I haven't found it anywhere. If anyone has any suggestions we'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Grab a set of kitchen tongs. They'll do the job and always handy.

You beat me to it, Nomis,,,, although I, personally use a grabber,,, I usually carry one around with me when I'm in the house, anyway.

It's great for picking stuff off the floor, getting things from higher shelves (where the wife hides them), annoying the cat, and pinching bums, when the mood strikes. I'm not permitted to carry one outside the house because of that last reason.

Ooh, kitchen tongs, that's perfect since they're designed to be heat-resistant anyway. Thanks Nomis!

Ya, edlee, he'll be sure to have grabbers around the house but they tend to be too long for this purpose - he has to back up to use 'em on the stove. And he's already discovered the bum-pinching usefullness, thank you very much (ouch!).
