Hello guys and girls
I'm 10 years post injury and on the whole all things considered I'm fairly happy and sane, and this board helps in that respect greatly as a problem shared is a problem solved.
In saying that though there is one aspect that from day one has been a problem and that is finding decent personal assistance, carers whatever you want to call them.
Unfortunately my level of injury has meant that although I have made great improvements in my level of independence there is still a need to have third party help with the main aspects of my life.
They are principally getting in and out of bed and bathroom functions such as showering.
I'll be interested to know how other people in my situation cope with managing this necessary assistance.
The main questions I have are
1 How many hours of care do you have, how does that time break down?
2 How many carers are you employing?
3 Have you come across good ways of finding good staff or like me do you constantly feel that you're putting up with complete idiots for fear of not finding anyone else and the load being dumped on family?
If any of you have any feedback you can give me I would be most grateful.
Cheers
curbyi

If it don't make sense I blame the voice typing software misunderstanding me not my failure to listen in English classes!
