I've done it before & am doing it again - Dropping fast food is easy...

I Don't eat lots of crap but like most - I'll pick at stuff - cookies, crumb cakes, cheetos My weakness,ect..

I'm Gonna try n cut All that out Altogether!!!! for a good long stretch - Bar a piece of cake at someones house - This Part is the Hard Part!!!!! Oh Yeah I'm Dumping Soda which I don't drink much of either....

So. What kind of stuff is good to snack on if I get the urge - Also what drinks do you guys like to have with lunch/dinner??? I Know about fruits being good - I Don't eat veggies unless with dinner...

So Let me know.. whatever fat free this, low calories that, ect....

I find that apples, bananas, carrots and nuts (not roasted and not a lot - measure out your daily allowance and stick to it) are quite good. Non processed food is better. Eating a big breakfast and less throughout the day but more often helps me stay full and keep my energy up. It also ensures you keep your metabolism up and you digest your food easier. Think of a car that has a badly adjusted carb - floor the accelerator and it can flood. That surge of gas bogs the car down because it is unable to burn the fuel properly. Feed the gas in slower and the car will run better. A guy analogy I know but that is the best I could think of.

I sometimes have an apple and a large glass of water an hour before my dinner. Apparently the apple swells up in your stomach and makes you less hungry by the time dinner comes around.

 Seriously, you probably will, E.

I find that everything in moderation is a good way to eat. You want a cupcake? Eat it. You want some avocados? Eat one. You want something healthy, junky, whatever your body wants, just eat it. I think I do a decent job of eating well--like I mostly cook at home instead of going out/ordering in--and cook most things from scratch instead of processed stuff but I also like to eat something junk food-y from time to time, candy, chocolate, etc. Depriving yourself of something will ultimately only make you crave it more.

grab some sort of granola type bar, just be sure to look at it as most of the are just as bad for you as a candy bar. I eat FiberOne bars, good for you and your poops and actually taste pretty damn good, chocolate chip is the best. Beef Jerky can also be a good snack, high in protein.

I pretty much drink only water and milk. Haven't had a coke in over a year, been having my drinks on the rocks when I do decide to have one.

Exactly! What is haribo, though!?

Forgot to post about liquids since Mac67 asked about that. I drink pretty much only water, coffee and Vitamin Water (not sure if you guys have Vitamin Water over there in the UK). I don't drink pop. Well, rarely. My mother never kept it in the house when I was a kid and I just never developed a liking for sweet sugary drinks (unless you count milkshakes. I like those!). I think I drink too much coffee. I'm trying to cut down a bit on the coffee. I could never cut it out entirely. Mmm coffee.

i was drinking a lot of vitamin water there for a bit, then I noticed how much sugar was in some of it and stopped. The Energy one though is great for a 2-3 hour kick, but the downturn always left me feeling dead. Good tasting stuff though. I finally broke down and just bought me one of those pitchers with a filter built into it.

For snacks, I like 3/4 ounce pre-wrapped sharp cheddar chese sticks. I limit myself to 2 a day.

Attached Image: cheese.jpg

Drinks: water with meals and throughout the day. NO caffiene of ANY kind. 100% cranberry juice (not cocktail blend, which has HFC) with pills in morning and at night.

Bland, but seems to keep everything working good these days.

Is Energy the yellow one? That's the one I mostly drink. And the one with the B vitamins, forget what that one is called. We only recently got Vitamin Water in Canada (and I'm pretty sure it's not even the same as the 'original') but I've been buying the stuff in Buffalo for years and bringing it back here. It's much better than drinking something like Gatorade when you need a kick.
