How puncture proof are these tires? I'm needing to put a new pair of tires on my spare chair, I use this chair with my handbike and also when i'm on holiday (not letting the airlines near my good chair after last time lol).
are these tires hardy enough for using with a hand bike on the road and through woodland?

Hi i use them on my every day chair and love them i use mountain bike tyres on my hand bike the marathon plus may be a little narrow for use off road i have been on mud paths with no problems but only for short ammounts of time and the mud was compact so pretty hard so i never got stuck in the mud but as for punctures i have never had one yet while using the schwalbe tyre and they last a long time 2.

Hope this helps

Si

I have a spare Schwalbe Marathon Plus 26 x1" tyre, 590 diameter not 559. If you want it to try can ahve it for cost of postage. I have switched to solids because i only use a chair for distance, so my chair lives in car and its easy to have solids which require no pump!

Cheers

Oh i've had 3 or 4 punctures in the Marathon's but have been using them for longer than most on here and properly hang around in dodgy bars :). They aren't puncture-proof but are a 100 times better than Primo's etc and last much longer too.

I'm not going to say they are completely puncture-proof, but I rolled through some glass at a soccer match. I didn't realize it until I had went over it, but I didn't get a single problem.

I did pump them up too much once and I popped into a wheelie and the air came rushing out and it scared the Jesus out of me!

Zirconium Pants.
