Hey guys. Sorry I went from a regular here to never here. I have been working hard at getting better and actually working a job. I have news. I am going into hospital on April 28th.

I am having a procedure called "CORPECTOMY along with Spine Reconstruction and Decompression. It is being done at the Home of The Miami Project. Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida by Dr. Barth Green and Dr. Nathan Lebwohl. They say a good percentage of patients having this procedure have had good Neuro return below the injury sight.

I am not getting my hopes up but hey I have nothing to lose. Wish me luck and say a prayer for me. Once again sorry for not being around much. This sight has always been good to me as well as all the friends I have made here.

Sincerely,

Richie aka Motor

Hey guys well I am home from the hospital but feel like shit. It feels like I got beat with a bat. One month of bed rest so I heal then intense physical therapy. As far as what was done: A Corpectomy. They entered just under my right armpit and cut through, chest muscle, lat muscle and other stuff. Entry sight around 8 to 10 inches long. They removed a rib to gain better access to cord. Crushed bone that was compressing spinal cord an T-6 T-7 were removed and area cleaned and fused using removed rib. Surgery took 8 hours and went longer than expected. Cannot use my right arm for ANYTHING for a month. Back to Doc on June 1st and then inpatient rehab for a while. Now for good news. Immediately after surgery I was able to move feet and toes in all directions and could contract my thighs all of which I wasn't able to do the day before surgery. Way to early to get my hopes up but at least I didn't come out worse. Next 6 months to a year will be BIG for me. Thanks to all me well wishers and will keep you guys posted. I can be reached on Facebook@ Richard J Salidor or slikrik5o@aol.com.

Thanks
