Dammit all, I'm sorry for ruining the earth! I swear I didn't know! :(

I guess I need to watch out for Al Gore, he might make a Graph showing how I am responsible for killing the earth!

Between my fatness and my polluting cars I guess all those lights I replaced with CFL's don't mean shit.

There seem to be a few shaky assumptions in the report, e.g. "Because thinner people eat less and are more likely to walk than rely on cars, a slimmer population would lower demand for fuel for transportation and for agriculture"

Oh really !!?? I know plenty of skinny runts who eat a damned sight more than I do. As for skinny runts being more likely to walk - ha!. The authors (who are no doubt skinny runts themselves) should stand outside any infants school and watch the mums dropping off their little darlings on their way to the gym, and collecting them each afternoon for the 600 yard drive home.

Damn, that picture of Al Gore is nuts!!! He looks like a creepy reptile man.

Well, hell, I am one of the evil SUV drivers. That means that I'm one of those responsible as well, I guess! At least I don't drive a Hummer.

Actually I have always been curious about doing one of those carbon footprint tests--those online things where you figure out what your carbon footprint is and how much damage you are doing to the environment in your life. Hmm.

In my opinion, most of the crap we're dealing with and trying to "undo" (UN saying fish are "over-harvested," global warming, crime rates, etc....) are the direct result of OVER-POPULATION.

Do you think I could get a Nobel prize if I wrote a book about birth control? Makes me wanna rent Soylent Green and look at how it portrayed over-population again... It's probably been 30 years since I saw it! What a GREAT flick!

Well, he's a politician isn't he. They're ALL reptiles. And they're ALL on the make.

Anyone who shows an interest in being a politician should be immediately disqualified from ever becoming a candidate.

Damn. I'm grouchy today  !

That study was done in London, Dave,,, we don't have to worry over here,,, we're supposed to be fat.

Some one is always talking about curing famine by producing more food,,,,, It's not a matter of production,, it's a matter of transportation.

Enough food is produced, in the world, to feed everyone enough to get us all obese. Getting it to where it's needed is the problem. So what's the answer???

When it costs more to get the stuff to you than it does to produce it,,, It looks like you either grow it, buy it, or die. That's what famine really is,,, they can't do the first two,, so the third happens.
They aren't making much of a carbon footprint,,, but,, somehow, I can't make myself envy them for it.

This has got to be the most idiotic thing I've ever heard.
I look like a rolling water bed with tennis shoes on but I don't eat that much. Probably less than a lot of people who look like pencils in suits and ties.

a la carte sounds about right when (he)(she)(take your pick) says over population is the culprit. My guess would be that 90% of our problems stem from too much unsupervised sex. If people in Arm Pit, Mississippi are allowed to continue to bang away at whatever wears a skirt without the use of some sort of contraceptive device we're all gonna be screwed. BIG TIME.

But then again, what the hell. Why worry about people slowly starving to death "over there?" I don't know "them." Can't feel "their" pain.
All that shit is way too abstract for a bone head like me.

Much like the ecological future of our little dust mote of a planet.
Even if I had had kids (I've always known the the world needs only one E-dog and thus acted accordingly) I would never know my children's children's children so who cares about them.

In my humbly assed lil' opinion, our species is far too self obsessed to truly be concerned about the needs of generations so far removed from us.
I wish them all the luck in the world, but they're on their own. It's every man for himself these days and I want a pizza at my door in 5 minutes or less
and it better be delivered by some unemployed Phd. in an SUV replete with color TV.

OOPS! Time to roll another, forget my cares and worries. Anything comes up, I'm sure someone else can take care of it. I'm gonna be busy plucking my nose hairs. Ouch, damn that's fun.

E-dog

I will nevah, EVAH take a pinch from a greasy muddahf*@kah like you!

I wonder when they are going to blame people that use power chairs and mobility scooters for global warming. Maybe blame beans for giving people gas and killing the ozone. :mfrlol:

I believe that the earths climate is cylindrical, that it is in a normal heat cycle and all this talk of carbon offsets and footprints is hogwash. I may be wrong, and I usually keep my opinions to myself because I don't want to stir things up. I am sorry if my opinion has upset anyone. :)

Some of you may know I am a bit of a greenie, the study makes some sense in a jumping to conclusions, generalisation kind of way - but don't skinny guys mainly race cars, motorbikes and boats? When did you last see someone who was morbidly obese racing in the WRC or F1? How many skinny people drive to the gym? How many body builders (who are often less than five percent fat) eat more than 3500 calories of foods such as lean chicken and tuna per day? How many skinnies fly to overseas destinations to lie on the beach and show off their bodies as opposed to overweight people? How many obese people don't use sun beds and how many really large people have to pay for two seats on a plane - therefore indirectly paying a greenhouse gas penalty but not being able to take double the luggage? How many obese people don't drive their cars half way across town to play sports because they can't play sports? I'm not, but unfortunately people who are overweight seem to be becoming the new smokers.

Well Dave, if you could just convert to a power supplier who generates by using coal and rubbish burning only to supply your power chair - you'll score 100% on the greenie ogre-o meter. Then you will be tarred and feathered, put in the stocks and pelted with fruit. :wink05:

Actually, you would be covered in feathers from chickens from a free range chicken farm which will be stuck to your body with a mixture of hemp oil, straw and locally sourced chicken manure. Then you'll be put in stocks made of plantation eco-timber and splattered with spoiled organic vegetables (which will be promptly recycled into compost). :mfrlol:

Glad to hear my efforts of having a smaller global footprint and saving more are helping make room for the "King Kong" footprint of the average Western consumer. :dev:
