Greetings All
From the UK wich is in the start of a new an iceage,
Does anybody have,had or have any information on a leaking right leg,
my right leg has started to leak,my GP told my to keep it elevated but it still leaks,

Not sure you are serious or not but there is a condition where the skin can become ulcerated because of a fluid build up on the tissue (I believe it is called oedema) and can result in a clear fluid leaking out through the skin.

I had this in '95, all I did was keep my legs raised, and wear compression stockings.

The swelling went down, and the skin healed and stopped leaking.

I've worn compression socks since, and had no further problems.

Keep an eye out for infection, especially if the skin is cracked.

There is medication to help reduce the swelling as well, but your doctor can advise you about those.

Did you also wear the stockings at night? or just during the day?

I took the stockings off at night to let my feet "breath".

As I was laying down in bed, I slept with my legs elevated with pillows under them to help drain the fluids out of my feet and legs, back into my body.

Get some good exercise, something that gets your heart rate up for at least 25mins. This helps a huge amount with circulation and helps skin heal much faster and also drains fluids. I handcycle and my skin heals 4 times faster now than normal. Many others have told me that they have similar results.

Exercise helps with all kinds of problems, not the least depression and stress. I think relieving those helps somewhat in the healing process, also.

If keeping the legs elevated helps, then the stockings will too,,,, but they ARE a bitch getting on and off.

Thanks for all your replies,
I have now had my leg elevated for two weeks and it is getting better,
the nurse came yesterday and put a new dressing on,
she said put doublebase on it every day and put it down for a few hours every day and see how it goes,
today I had it down for 4 hours and it seemed ok but now I have elevated it now and tomorrow put it down for 4 hours and see how it goes,
ps does anybody know what the sun is,
