Hey guys.

I was reading about alternatives to intermittent catheterisation, and came upon an old 1991 patent for what I think is a brilliant idea.

It's an indwelling catheter that when a magnet is applied against the shaft of the penis opens a valve that voids the bladder.

Does anyone know what came of this concept or a trade name that the system went by or still goes by? I am interested.

Heres the writeup I found on it. Just by checking out the diagram it looks like a relatively simple idea.

Any info anyone has would be way appreciated

Thanks.
