Question:

I recently noticed my spasticity increase for an unknown reason so I had the dr up my dose on Friday. I am on a pretty mild dose compared to most of you all but am very sensitive to increases. Do any of you have difficulties with feeling drugged for a couple of days after you get your pump adjusted. I just have really been feeling out of it the last couple of days.

I have the pump due to spasticity related to a stroke and cerebral palsy. I am ambulatory.

I'm fairly certain the only time you should be feeling tired is after a fill up. I do not think it's right to be feeling drugged for a weeks time, and it might be something you'd want to notify the Dr. about. I doubt it's anything you should worry about, it just might be the rate or something like that.

Hi,

If you're having a refill, with the same strength baclofen, and the amount of baclofen being delivered hasn't changed, then you shouldn't notice any difference.

If the strength or the amount of baclofen being delivered is increased, then you may feel associated symptoms due to the increase of baclofen. These could be weakness, drowsiness, change of sensation. If these symptoms are mild, I'd wait a week, to see if your body adjusts to the new dosage.

If these symptoms persist, and are having an impact on your quality of life, I would consult your doctor, and get the pump turned down, or the baclofen strength reduced.
