Hi everyone,

I get extremely tight neck and shoulder muscles due to obviously wheelchair use and the fact that my backrest is too low and my chair is just not supportive enough. I'm due to be getting a postural support and adjustments to my chair in a couple of months...thank goodness but I get the most almighty headaches and migraine symptoms because of my tight neck, shoulder and upper back muscles.

I am really hoping that the postural support will put an end to them and there is the possibility of a spinal fusion to T2 so my spine is more supported, although there's no certainty it would help :D

Anyway, I was wondering whether anyone here gets the same symptoms and if so, what you take to help. I have Tramadol and that doesn't seem to work. I think I'm tolerant to it. I'm thinking I probably need a muscle relaxant. Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

I had the same problem - sore neck and shoulder with resulting headaches. 600 mg of ibuprofen worked short term but I also get full upper body massages - deep tissue - every two weeks which helps deal with the pain. the massages were not relaxing, cozy, make you fall asleep. deep tissue and you could feel the knots. but it did wonders for getting by. just had surgery to fix my scoliosis - fusion down to pelvis - so i am hoping problem will now be fixed and less pain as result...
