LIFE IS NOT A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN A PRETTY AND WELL PRESERVED BODY,
BUT RATHER TO SKID IN BROADSIDE, THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT, AND LOUDLY PROCLAIMING----WOW----WHAT A RIDE!!!
Regards
Marty

This light therapy makes sense to me. When a child at Shriner's hospital (back in the 60's), I remember there was a young severely burned victim there that was often treated (post-grafting) with light to help her skin grafts take hold. It seems she was always there for one surgery or another, and my memories of her are with her under a tent-like structure with lights.
How a pressure sore would respond...I don't know...but it makes sense to me that it would be helpful. The main difference would be that with a pressure sore, the healing should take place from the deeper tissues to the outer tissues. I don't know if light therapy would encourage healing from the outside first?

Just keep in mind all healing should be from inside tothe outside, we don't want anything to close intop firts becasue it can create tunneling, or pockets inside that are not healed..so the idea is to promote thehealing from in to out
Ultraviolet, infra red, laser and differents lights are used topromote healing and had therapeutic effects, due to decrease of bacterias inthe wound, but if they are not use appropiately it can create more, so frequency, and intesity should be closely monitor, and lights are contrainidcated on decreased sensation due to the risk of burning...so in your case I would not use...It is my five cents...I know you need the money and go back to work, but not pressure in the area is the best way to go right now...can you get homecare nurse to do wound care? how about an antibacterial cream with some silver on? had they tried that...

The light therapy is supposed to be good but you're far better with Manuka Honey, can't beat it.
Heals, debrides, stops infection and its quick! My wife did a dissertation on using essential aromatherapy oils to heal sores and they were excellent healing garde 3 sores up to twice as fast but since we've found Manuka Honey is even better. Plus its just applied from the tube, no mixing of different oils as with the aromatherapy.
Make sure its UMF factor is 18+
